Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: A Simple Way to Collect the Dragon Balls

The Antarctic ice sheet cracked beneath Krillin's feet with a grinding crunch.

A freezing wind howled across the glacier, swirling snowflakes like knives in the air.

Temperatures that could freeze an elephant solid meant nothing to the man standing beside the glacial crevice.

Krillin wore nothing more than a thin Hawaiian shirt and held two steaming cups of hot cocoa.

He glanced at the bulky figure ahead of him, wrapped in thick polar gear like a walking snow dumpling, and couldn't help smiling.

"Hey, Young Miss. Even if that suit has a built-in temperature control system, you've been digging for ten minutes already."

Krillin walked over and handed her the hot cocoa.

Bulma turned around with effort, her eyes visible behind her goggles.

Her voice came through the suit's speaker with a burst of static.

"Because the radar shows it's right under here! This is five hundred meters of ancient ice! Even with a laser excavator, it's not something I can break instantly!"

She glared at him, "Do you think everyone is a monster like you?"

Krillin grinned, "It's fine to call me a monster in bed. Normally, you should call me 'dear.'"

He casually placed his palm against the glacier.

There was no explosive aura.

No dramatic power surge.

Just a gentle push downward.

Rumble...

Within a hundred-meter radius, the ancient glacier flattened instantly as if pressed by an invisible giant hand.

Ice that had existed for thousands of years shattered into fine crystalline powder.

The deep crevice disappeared.

In its place remained a perfectly smooth hollow in the ice.

At the center lay an orange sphere.

Six stars shimmered inside the crystal-clear surface.

Bulma's jaw dropped.

The hot cocoa nearly spilled from her hand.

Even after witnessing Krillin's ridiculous strength countless times, she still couldn't get used to it.

Krillin lifted his hand.

The Six-Star Dragon Ball flew gently into his palm.

The texture was incredible.

It wasn't glass.

It wasn't resin.

It felt warm like jade, smooth and strangely alive.

A faint pulse vibrated through the sphere like a sleeping heartbeat.

"Dragon Ball..." Krillin rubbed the surface thoughtfully.

In his previous life he had only seen them on a screen.

Now he was holding one in his hand.

The feeling of breaking reality itself left him momentarily dazed.

"What are you staring at?! Give it to me!" Bulma rushed over and snatched the Dragon Ball from his hand.

Holding it up to the sunlight, she looked like an excited child.

"That makes four! Only three more left!"

Krillin wrapped his arm around the bulky polar suit around her waist.

The next moment the world changed.

The freezing wind disappeared.

Instead came the roar of waves and the warmth of tropical sunlight.

Instant Transmission.

They had arrived on a deserted island near the equator.

The sun blazed overhead.

White sand stretched along the shoreline.

"So hot!"

Bulma quickly peeled off the heavy protective suit, revealing the bikini she had been wearing underneath.

Bright red—Krillin's favorite color.

Against it, her skin looked dazzlingly pale.

"The radar says the next Dragon Ball is inside the volcano on this island."

Bulma checked the Dragon Radar.

"But since we're already here..."

She tossed the radar onto a beach towel.

Her eyes narrowed lazily like a cat's.

Her finger hooked the collar of Krillin's shirt.

"I've been flying around the world for days. My waist is about to break. As the strongest martial artist on Earth, you should know a good way to give a massage."

Krillin swallowed.

These past few days had felt less like a Dragon Ball hunt and more like a global honeymoon.

From deep ocean shipwrecks to jungle temples, they had left traces everywhere.

The System panel flickered at the corner of his vision.

[Detected high-intensity emotional interaction]

[Current Stamina: ∞ (Saitama template trait)]

[Target Stamina: 85 (Peak human condition)]

[Warning: Please control your output. She might actually break.]

Krillin ignored the sarcastic warning.

He lifted Bulma into his arms and walked toward a treehouse hidden in the coconut grove.

"A massage is easy," Krillin lowered his head, brushing his nose against her collarbone.

"But my hands are very strong." Sometimes I can hold back. And sometimes... you'll have to beg for mercy."

Bulma lifted her chin proudly, "We'll see who begs first, Baldy."

Three hours later.

Krillin stepped out of the treehouse feeling refreshed.

He stretched lazily, planning to catch a few giant lobsters from the sea for lunch.

Suddenly several figures emerged from the jungle.

They wore ragged military uniforms and carried old submachine guns.

On their torn sleeves was a faded emblem.

The Red Ribbon Army.

"Don't move!"

A one-eyed man pointed his weapon at Krillin.

"Hand over everything valuable! And that woman! We heard everything!"

Krillin barely glanced at them.

Instead, he checked the System notification that had appeared.

[New Task: Eliminate the pests]

[Reward: Dragon Radar Precision Upgrade]

"Hey! I'm talking to you, baldy!" The one-eyed soldier fired.

Rat-tat-tat-tat!

Bullets poured out in a storm.

Krillin simply yawned.

Three inches away from his body, every bullet flattened against an invisible wall and fell harmlessly to the sand.

The one-eyed man's face turned pale with terror.

"The Red Ribbon Army."

Krillin picked up a flattened bullet between his fingers.

"That's a nostalgic name."

He rubbed the metal.

It crumbled into dust.

"Goku must have missed some trash during the cleanup."

Krillin flicked his finger toward the pirate ship anchored several hundred meters offshore.

No Ki blast.

Just a small burst of air.

Boom!

The massive iron ship split in half instantly and exploded into a giant fireball.

Shockwaves knocked the remaining soldiers unconscious.

The treehouse door opened.

Bulma stepped out wrapped in a bath towel, her cheeks still flushed.

"It's so noisy. Are people setting off fireworks?"

"Nothing important," Krillin walked back toward the house.

"Just swatted a few mosquitoes."

He closed the door behind him.

"So..." Krillin smiled. "Where were we? Oh right. You wanted to try that anti-gravity pose."

"Idiot! I said I wanted lobster!"

"We can try it after catching the lobsters."

"...Depends on your performance."
