Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 – Move-In Day

April 25, 2026. Tokyo University move-in day.

The campus sprawled across the city—modern buildings mixed with old brick, cherry trees still clinging to a few late blossoms, students hauling boxes and suitcases everywhere.

Sora's dorm was a tall concrete block near the humanities building. Small single room—bed, desk, closet, shared kitchen down the hall.

Akira's dorm was across campus—science and engineering side. Similar setup, slightly larger desk.

They met at the main gate at 9:00 a.m.—both carrying boxes, both a little breathless from the train ride.

Sora grinned when she saw him. "Ready to be a university student?"

Akira adjusted his grip on the box. "Ready to survive move-in day."

They laughed—easy, familiar.

First they went to Sora's dorm.

The room was small but clean—white walls, wooden floor, window overlooking a courtyard.

Sora set her box on the bed. "Home sweet home."

Akira helped her unpack—books on the shelf, clothes in the closet, fairy lights strung above the desk.

He paused when he found the small plush ice cube she'd bought at the onsen town—now sitting on her pillow.

Sora noticed. "It's my good-luck charm."

Akira's mouth curved. "You kept it."

"Of course I kept it." She stepped closer—kissed his cheek. "It's us."

Akira's ears turned pink.

They finished unpacking—then headed to his dorm.

His room was almost identical—same layout, same view.

Sora looked around. "It's so… you. Neat. Organized. Boring."

Akira raised an eyebrow. "Boring?"

She grinned. "I'll fix that."

She pulled out a small pack of stickers—cartoon firecrackers—and stuck one on his desk lamp.

Akira sighed—fond. "You're impossible."

"You love it."

He pulled her close—kissed her softly.

"I do."

They spent the afternoon exploring campus—cafeteria, library, bookstore, main quad.

New faces everywhere—students laughing, shouting greetings, hauling boxes.

A group of guys from Sora's orientation passed by—waved.

One lingered. "Sora, right? From the humanities welcome session. You're fast on your feet."

Sora smiled politely. "Thanks."

The guy glanced at Akira—then back at her. "See you around?"

Sora nodded. "Sure."

He left.

Akira's hand tightened on hers.

Sora glanced at him. "Jealous?"

Akira's voice was low. "Possessive."

She laughed—bright, teasing. "Good."

They walked on—hands linked, shoulders brushing.

Evening came.

They ended up in Sora's dorm—door closed, lights low.

She sat on the bed. He sat beside her.

Sora leaned against him. "It feels real now. Dorms. Classes. Separate rooms."

Akira's arm went around her. "We'll make time."

She looked up. "Promise?"

Akira kissed her forehead. "Promise."

They kissed—slow, deep.

Hands wandered—gentle, exploring.

When they pulled back, Sora whispered, "Stay tonight?"

Akira's breath hitched.

He nodded.

They lay down—clothes on, arms around each other.

Just holding.

Just breathing.

Just being.

The new chapter had begun.

And they were writing it together.
