Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The Devilish Instructor, The Monster Attacks

Training Ground Under Scorching Sun

A figure sprinted across the empty track at top speed. Beneath vest and shorts was a powerful physique with striking visual appeal, reflecting blinding light in the sunlight. Well-trained muscles like steel springs. Long legs generating tremendous explosive power with each stride.

Captured by high-speed camera, Jordan in that instant would resemble a sharpened sword. Sharp and menacing. Fierce and powerful.

One lap, two laps, three laps...

Countless trainees stood on the sidelines, watching the blurry figure whose lap times grew increasingly absurd. Cold sweat dripped uniformly from their foreheads.

That speed. That physique. That endurance. That physical strength.

He's a monster!

After jogging several laps to warm up, Jordan approached the student he'd appointed as recorder. "Results recorded?"

The called student looked dazed, nodding hurriedly. "I... I wrote it down..."

"Then you'll all train according to this standard. After that, comprehensive training hall for combat drills. Understood?"

Later - Comprehensive Training Hall

A group of exhausted, sweat-soaked trainees helped each other into the stadium. Just as they prepared to collapse, they spotted that devilish figure on the training field. Their faces paled. They stood up straight in formation, bodies trembling as they pushed themselves beyond limits.

The head instructor in the monitoring room nodded with satisfaction. "Hmm, finally starting to look like elite officers! Which class?"

"Report, it's Class Seven!"

"Next up, Kevin, number A0027, step forward!"

On the makeshift ring set up in the indoor gymnasium, Kevin from A-City swallowed hard, Adam's apple bobbing nervously.

His opponent was a devil in human skin. A physical monster. A tiger among police. The devilish instructor Jordan from Z-City!

Kevin felt utterly despondent thinking of all his opponent's nicknames.

I can't do this! It's too hard!!

Only when truly facing him do you realize how terrifying this man's aura is!

Just standing there makes breathing difficult, like a mountain about to collapse!

He's a monster!

If Jordan knew his opponent was overthinking, he'd definitely say, "Yes, this is Conqueror's Haki!"

The opposing student hesitated to attack for a long time. Jordan understood.

After breaking through racial restrictions, one begins ceasing to be human. The fact that ordinary people can perceive racial suppression is itself rare talent.

This Kevin's not bad.

Just then, a loud roar erupted on stage.

"Watch out, Instructor!" Kevin finally snapped, unable to bear the tension and mental strain. His face flushed, veins bulging, aura terrifying. "As a police officer! I can't back down! Even if you're the Demon King! I'll challenge you!!"

"The Demon King..."

"He actually said it out loud..."

"Kevin's dead, isn't he?"

Trainees below buzzed with discussion, sentencing their audacious fellow to death.

Jordan's eye twitched. "...The Demon King?"

Am I really that harsh?

As he pondered, a shadow swiftly approached. He instinctively dodged Kevin's lunge, then raised his hand and clenched his fist.

A sickening thud.

Onlookers watched in horror as Kevin delivered his stomach directly to Jordan's fist like a suicide mission. The next second, his abdomen caved in. Eyes bulged. He came to a sudden stop as if braking, falling over with his back bent like a cooked shrimp.

"Wow... the instructor's really too strong!"

"So fast! I didn't even see the move!"

"I think I'm next... I'm going to die, I'm going to die, help!"

Amidst the chaotic noise, Jordan felt utterly exasperated.

You startle so easily. It's been so long. Haven't you gotten used to it yet?

No wonder people with normal thought processes find it difficult surviving in this dangerous world full of monsters.

These officers are performing quite well, all things considered.

The confrontation continued.

Jordan, as Class Seven's designated final boss, maintained an undefeated record.

Anyone daring to challenge him received a much heavier punch.

Don't ask. The answer is simply education's iron fist of love.

Approaching Dusk

A group of bored instructors organized live-fire exercises on the large parade ground. Jordan's Class Seven successfully topped the rankings, even attracting the chief instructor's and other high-ranking officers' attention.

After spending considerable time in the training camp, Jordan already knew the head instructor was the current Metropolitan Police Department Chief, the highest-ranking officer present.

This special training program existed under his leadership.

"Everyone did great today! Very energetic! Uh..."

The head instructor had just begun his speech when startling whistling came from the sky.

He stopped instinctively, turning toward the strange noise. His gaze froze instantly.

The next moment, a shadow grew larger above everyone's heads. In the blink of an eye, it covered the sky!

Something's falling from above!

The scene descended into chaos.

Spider-Sense gave mild warning. Jordan had noticed the anomaly long before anyone else.

Judging by naked eye, what fell from the sky appeared to be... a section of office building.

His extraordinary perception discovered countless cries for help coming from inside.

People are still in there.

As if infected by Saitama, Jordan scratched his head, expression turning serious. "Oh man, this is troublesome."

The ordinary people inside the half-built structure and the police officers scattered on the ground all needed rescue. Not a problem solvable by simply throwing the building elsewhere.

Spider-Time unfolded. Jordan took a deep breath, deciding to take initiative.

Moments before impact, blue light flashed in people's eyes.

Light membrane formed by mental energy extended and enveloped the entire building, creating a giant sphere. Simultaneously, Jordan's mental computing power operated at high speed, generating thousands of small bubbles enveloping every human present.

The Absolute Territory unfolded instantly, constructing a complex force field structure resembling a bird's nest, protecting all officers on the playground. Supported by the force field, the building began decelerating, finally stopping twenty meters above ground. The immense kinetic energy transferred to the earth. The resulting shockwave almost completely destroyed all buildings outside the playground!

Fortunately, the training camp was built in sparsely populated wilderness.

Impact prevented!

Smoke and dust generated by impact dispersed through chaotic airflow. None of the humans enveloped in mental bubbles were injured, whether in sky or on ground.

At this moment, the scene fell completely silent. Everyone's eyes focused on the man in the sky shining with the same blue light as the building.

"Is that... Instructor Jordan?"

"It's Instructor Jordan!"

"He's actually flying!"

"Idiot, he saved us!"

"Chief, this is Instructor Z0001, Jordan. I'm placing the building outside the training camp. Please organize personnel for rescue operations."

Amid the commotion, the stunned department head heard Jordan's voice. His dull eyes regained light.

Through sand and gravel kicked up by impact, the minister stared in shock at the building frozen in the sky and the figure floating in air.

If not for this man, the entire special training camp, including himself and numerous high-ranking Metropolitan Police Department officers, would probably have graduated life today.

"Jordan, thank goodness you're here..." Regaining composure, the department head said decisively. "I'll immediately order rescue operations!"

"What about you, Jordan?"

Jordan gently placed the building on nearby ground. "A-City's probably under attack by some monster. I'll check it out."

"Understood! Please leave this to us with confidence!"

A-City Urban Area

A metal tower crane, tens of meters high, moved along a busy street. Each step left broken potholes beneath its feet.

Traffic congested throughout the city. People ran around in panic everywhere.

A huge, grotesque human face grew from where it intersected with the crane boom, emitting a piercing, metallic laugh. "Squeak squeak squeak! I'm so angry! Fed up with climbing tower cranes to and from work every day, I merged with the crane! Human buildings are utterly vulnerable before me! Destroy them all! Squeak squeak squeak!"

Piercing sirens blared across A-City's skies.

"Hero Association Report! Hero Association Report! A gigantic mechanical monster, measuring thirty meters in length, has appeared in A-City, designated 'Crane Monster'! Initial threat assessment: Demon-level! Heroes in the vicinity, proceed to the scene immediately!"

"Repeated broadcast! An incident has occurred in A-City..."

With a sonic boom, Jordan flew swiftly over A-City. In his line of sight, the giant crane monster swung its booms of varying lengths, instantly shattering buildings on both sides, filling the sky with dust.

That's how half the special training camp building nearly got destroyed.

His powerful perception took in the apocalyptic scene. From devastated ruins came screams and wails of agony. The owners of these voices weren't so lucky. Countless people had died the moment disaster struck.

Though he'd seen similar scenes more than once since transmigrating, Jordan still felt anger.

The once calm sky over A-City suddenly filled with turbulent clouds.

Thunder erupting with power. Jordan's eyes turned silver-white. Large amounts of lightning released from his body. Cotton candy-white clouds turned dark at speeds visible to the naked eye, flashes occasionally streaking across them, producing muffled drumbeat sounds.

A storm was brewing!

"Squeak, squeak, squeak... Hiccup! Why did the weather suddenly change?" The crane monster, about to continue wreaking havoc, looked up in confusion as the sky suddenly darkened. "Wait a minute! I'm no longer a weak human, so what if it rains! Squeak, squeak, squeak... Huh?"

A twisted lightning bolt tore through the not-yet-completely-dark sky and crashed down. Only after a long while did the distant high sky faintly echo with muffled thunder!

Ultimate Technique: Slicing Maelstrom!

Dense lightning bolts descended from the sky. The crane monster only glanced before being engulfed by dazzling electricity and frozen in place!

The storm mark contained within instantly reached its limit. Rule-like power tore apart the monster's mind, leaving him stunned.

Thunder subsided. Thick smoke billowed.

Two pieces of glowing red scrap metal appeared on scorched ground as if hit by artillery fire. Those were the crane monster's metal bodies.

However, the creature was still alive!

"Squeak... it hurts! It hurts so much!"

"Damn it!! Who did this? Don't let me catch you, or I'll beat you into a foundation at the construction site!!"

"It's so noisy."

Just as Jordan prepared to unleash another attack, an impatient, delicate voice rang out from the sky.

A tiny, shimmering green dot floated beneath the lingering dark clouds, accompanied by immense mental fluctuation utterly disproportionate to its size.

The little green dot gradually flew lower, revealing a green-haired girl with emerald curly hair wearing a black slit dress.

Seeing that familiar, distinctive, sexy outfit, Jordan suddenly realized. "S-Class Rank Two, Tornado of Terror! Oh... right, the association doesn't have S-Class tier yet."

"But judging from this momentum, Tornado's already excessively strong. No wonder she's the strongest fighter in the association besides Baldy!"

Supermarket in Z-City

An ordinary-looking man with black hair suddenly sneezed. At that moment, he was torn between limited-time special chicken breast and limited-edition veal.

Saitama wore a plain yellow battle suit and plastic gloves like those worn by janitors, as if taking a quick supermarket trip during hero activities.

His facial features, enhanced by the battle suit, appeared somewhat resolute and handsome. Upon closer inspection though, his overall style softened. His gaze, preoccupied with ingredients, seemed particularly relaxed.

He looked like an ordinary human who enjoyed quirky cosplay but was harmless.

"Huh... is someone thinking about me, or did I catch a cold?" Saitama rubbed his nose in confusion, completely ignoring strange looks from other customers. He seriously propped his chin up, muttering, "That's strange. The weather isn't even cold yet I caught a cold. I've been sticking to my training every day. What could be the reason?"

"In that case, let's have special beef hot pot for dinner tonight to warm up! Speaking of which, it's been almost half a month since I've seen Jordan. Should I call and invite him over?"

Just then, a sweet voice announced from the loudspeaker. "Dear customers, today's limited-edition sale items are sold out. The next limited-edition sale begins next Saturday. Welcome to visit again!"

"Ahhh, all the limited-edition items are sold out?!" Saitama was dumbfounded hearing the announcement, then seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, muttering, "In that case, no need to worry about what to buy anymore. Tonight, we'll just have regular chicken breast..."

Before he could finish, the announcement came on again. "It is now 5:30 PM. Today's limited-time sale has ended. Staff, please close the sales lanes promptly. Customers who have already selected items can continue to the front desk to complete payment..."
