Chapter 37 - Chapter 36: The Crystal

I knew that I had to destroy the crystal, but it wouldn't be easy. The Queen's powers were focused on keeping it safe, and I could feel the energy she was directing towards it.

I decided to try and get her to use her powers elsewhere. I charged towards her, my sword flashing in the dim light of the underworld.

She laughed and raised her hand, sending a wave of dark energy towards me. But I was ready for her. I dodged the attack and struck back with my sword.

The Queen was caught off guard and stumbled backwards. I took advantage of the momentary distraction to strike at the crystal.

But the Queen was too quick. She recovered and grabbed my wrist, her grip like a vice. You fool, she hissed. You'll never destroy the crystal.

I tried to break free, but her grip was too strong. I was trapped.

And then, I remembered the words of an old wise man. The greatest power comes not from strength, but from weakness.

I relaxed my arm, letting the Queen's grip tighten even further. And then, with a sudden burst of speed, I twisted my wrist and broke free.

The Queen was caught off guard, and I took advantage of the momentary distraction to strike at the crystal once more.

This time, my sword bit deep into its surface. The crystal shattered, and the Queen's powers faltered.

I stood tall, my sword still trembling with the force of the blow. I had done it. I had saved the world.

But as I looked at the Queen, I saw a glimmer of sadness in her eyes. Why did you have to destroy the crystal? she asked.

I was taken aback.
