"Hello everyone, I am Rubeus Hagrid keeper of keys and grounds of Hogwarts. I know you are all excited so I'll cut the chatter." Then he pointed towards some small boats by the lake. "Now, four per boat and don't be standing when it starts."
As Colin, Ginny, and Luna got into a boat Colin noticed that Basil was still missing. "Hey have you seen Basil? I haven't seen him since we got here."
"I'm right here." A hand suddenly grabbed his shoulder scaring Colin.
"W-What? How did you get there?" His heart beating fast he swore Basil wasn't there a moment ago.
"I was sitting here when you got in. Didn't you come here because you saw me?"
"No? Did you guys see him?" He then turned to Ginny and Luna, both shook their heads.
Just as Colin was about to retort, he noticed a vast castle with many turrets and towers.
All the students gasped starring at Hogwarts.
Soon they arrived at a harbor where they got out and followed Hagrid to the castle.
The castle doors opened and tall witch with a stern face stood there.
"Thank you Hagrid I will take over from here." The witch led the first years to an empty room.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Professor McGonagall, your Deputy Headmistress. The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes, I suggest you all get ready while you wait." And she left the room.
"Oh no, I heard the sorting ceremony is super hard."
"What happens if I fail?"
As soon as Professor McGonagall left the room all the students began whispering about the sorting ceremony.
"Hey Basil are you nervous?" Colin said nervously.
"No, why would I be scared of a mere sorting ceremony? You're being dramatic. " Basil shook his head in denial.
Ginny nervously looked at Basil. "You're the weird one."
"I think he'll be great in Gryfindor with that courage." Luna said with a smile.
"Thanks a Luna."
"Please follow me." Professor McGonagall appeared and led the first years towards the great hall.
As they entered the great hall hundreds of students looked over observing the nervous first years.
The first years were led to the front where a old hat was laid upon a stool.
As the first years approached a seam opened on the hat and it began to sing.

As the hat sung Basil looked around and locked eyes with Draco Malfoy who immediately turned away.
After waving unsuccessfully Basil pouted and took a spider out of his pocket. Whispering to the spider he let it go, watching the spider crawl towards the Slytherin table.

Draco Malfoy was watching the sorting hat sing when suddenly a familiar voice appeared in his ear.
"You're being rude you know, at least wave back."
He jumped up in surprise knocking over the goblet in front of him.
"Hey Draco are you ok?" Crabbe who was next to him noticed and asked.
"Ahhh! There's a spider on your ear!"hearing Crabbe's shout Draco instinctively swung his hand, slapping the spider off. Looking at the spider running away he looked around and noticed Basil smiling at him.
Glaring at Basil he sat down shooing off the curious glances of the other slytherins.
"Bramwell Basil."
Basil smiled at Draco and went up to the sorting hat putting it on.
'Hello Hatty.'
'Can you please stop with that ridiculous nickname.' Hatty replied with a grumpy voice.
'Don't be ridiculous, it's a the perfect name for you."
'Whatever what house do you want.'
'Gryfindor please.'
'Fine, just remember to come bye later.'
"GRYFINDOR!"
Basil walked towards the clapping gryfindors while Draco's glare drilled through his skull.
As the sorting continued Colin and Ginny sat next to Basil while Luna went over to the Ravenclaw table.
Congratulations Ginny, welcome to Gryfindor." A red headed prefect appeared as ginny sat down.
"Come on Percy, we all knew Ginny was gonna be in Gryfindor." Fred and George apeared beside Percy."By the way have you seen Harry and Ron? Hermione said she didn't see them at all."
"I didn't see them." Percy frowned as Ginny shook her head.
"Are you talking about Harry Potter?" Colin who was listening got excited when he heard that name.
"Do you know Harry potter?"
"Can you introduce me?"
"Ok ok, calm down we don't even know where they are. They could of missed even missed the train." Calming Colin down Fred and George left to ask around.
As Fred and George left Percy turned to Ginny and her friends.
"You seem to be good friends with my sister, I hope you treat her well otherwise I will hav3 to take drastic measures."
"Percy!" Ginny blushing from embarrassment turned and pushed Basil and Colin away leaving a dumbfounded Percy behind.
"Ok well be nice to her." Basil said before his mouth was covered by Ginny.
"You have cool brothers." Colin said not noticing her embarrassment.
Soon the sorting was finished and the frast began.
"Why aren't you eating?" Colin who was on his third serving of chicken noticed Basil not eating.
"I don't really like this stuff." Basil said while licking a lollipop.
"What do you like then?"
"This." Dessert began appearing on the plates and Basil began eating.
"I think he'll has an obsession over sugar." Colin muttered to Ginny and she agreed.
As the feast finished Percy led the first years to the Gryfindor common room and instructed then towards their dorms.
"Finally!" Colin immediately jumped on his bed and buried his head in his pillow.
"Ill go out for a bit." Basil munched on sweets as he turned to leave.
"Huh? Where are you going?" Colin lifted his head looking over.
"I'm meeting a friend ill be back soon so don't worry."Basil had his hand on the handle turning it slowly.
"Who's your friend?" Colin asked curious.
"His name is Hatty."
"Hatty? Who names someone Hatty?"
"I named hin thou isn't it a great name?"
"Umm... whatever." Colin slumped into the bed drowsiness catching up.
"Good night." Basil opened the door and walked out.

I noticed that I didn't realy do much with Luna so I'll try to add her more. And sorry for not uploading i just got lazy again you shouldt trust me if I say stuff like "ill upload again this week" and I probably won't have a upload schedule ever (unless I take it seriously)
For people who like this sorry but you should probably come back in a year. There should be 20 chapters by then. Until then
