Victor walked alone along one of the elevated paths of the Demonic Cult, now wearing the dark robes reserved for inner disciples. The black and red fabric fit his body well, simple enough not to restrict his movements and durable enough to withstand training sessions that would destroy ordinary clothes in minutes. However, he still wore his old dark hood over his head, concealing part of his face. The sunlight in that region remained far too uncomfortable for his vampiric skin, and Victor had no interest in turning a peaceful walk into another regeneration exercise.
Around him, disciples crossed the stone paths, some discreetly slowing down when they recognized him. After his disastrous introduction in the main hall and Yu Jin Cheon's public confirmation that Victor was his personal disciple and son-in-law, the way people treated him within the Cult had changed considerably. Some bowed. Others simply avoided eye contact. Victor ignored almost all of them.
His mind was elsewhere.
