Seo Baek Hyang continued holding Victor's wrist for a few more seconds, allowing her energy to circulate through his channels while observing every reaction with almost uncomfortably precise attention. She no longer seemed interested merely in the amount of power he possessed, but in the way different energies coexisted within the same body without coming into conflict. That clearly wasn't normal. Even after thousands of years studying cultivation, bloodlines, special physiques, and forms of energy, there was something about Victor's constitution that didn't fit perfectly into any classification she knew.
Finally, Hyang released his wrist.
The invisible energy keeping him suspended disappeared as well.
Victor fell.
He managed to land on his feet before falling flat on his face, but still had to take two steps to recover his balance.
"You could've just put me down," Victor complained, straightening his clothes and shooting her an irritated look.
