"…hey," Tina waved a hand weakly in front of Jenna's face, her brows knitting together in confusion. "Are you… okay? Is there something on my face?"
She patted her cheeks.
Jenna blinked.
The cold, suffocating rage that had risen in her chest dissolved almost instantly, like it had never been there.
"Yeah, I mean, no," she said after a beat, her voice returning to normal. "Just thinking…" she paused and leaned in, voice dropping into a whisper, as if telling a secret she didn't want others to hear. "Do you…believe in a miracle cure?"
Tina blinked. "What?" she asked softly, her tear-filled eyes searching Jenna's face like she was trying to understand if this was a joke.
"My uncle is a healer. He has this cure for almost all sickness and it might just be what you need."
Tina blinked, then blinked again. It seemed the girl wasn't joking.
