Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Encountering Peter

Natasha, who had just finished her and Ren's late-night snack, suddenly heard a violent explosion, and a blue beam of light shot straight into the sky.

"Wow, that's spectacular. Tsk tsk! Tomorrow will be lively." Natasha threw the paper bag that had held the hamburger into the trash can.

Her gaze fixed on the towering beam of light not far away as she sighed with admiration.

"Do you remember the bet we made?" Ren asked.

"A bet?" Natasha frowned slightly, then relaxed. She remembered their bet.

"Of course I remember. If I win, I'm your only host. If I lose, I'll obey you." Natasha said this in a flat tone. Natasha's good mood had vanished because of Ren's words.

As a straight man in his previous life, Ren naturally wouldn't understand why women would get angry for no reason, but after transforming into a Symbiote, he could still barely understand a girl's thoughts.

Ren said, "Don't worry, I'm very comfortable living in your body, and I have no intention of moving out for now."

Natasha said unhappily, "For now? So you mean you're planning to leave later?"

Ever since this guy had symbiotically joined her, she honestly felt she had taken good care of him. Now this thing was thinking of leaving at any time?

Ren replied, "No, no, no. As long as no force majeure occurs, I won't leave. Is that good enough?"

Anyway, he currently had no intention of changing hosts. Which host could have Natasha's status, which was so good? Able to contact super-powered individuals at any time?

"That's more like it." Natasha nodded in satisfaction.

Natasha glanced around and saw a familiar back. Memories surfaced in her mind, and Natasha called out with some uncertainty, "Peter?"

Hearing Natasha's words, the young man with a camera hanging in front of him suddenly turned around. He saw Natasha, and his expression was a little surprised.

"Ms. Natasha, we meet again."

Natasha curiously looked at the camera and press pass on Peter's chest and asked, "Just call me Natasha. If you don't mind, you can call me Big Sister. But weren't you assisting Dr. Connors? Why are you a reporter now?"

When this was mentioned, a trace of anger appeared on Peter's face. He said, "Because of Tim's mistake, the Lizard Man appeared. Dr. Connors argued with him, but he suspended Dr. Connors. I also resigned and am now an intern reporter."

Peter showed his badge and added, "Big Sister Natasha, it's getting late. I just took a few photos. I need to write an article and include these photos for tomorrow's news."

Saying that, he waved to Natasha and hurried towards his home.

"Youth is truly wonderful," Natasha couldn't help but exclaim while watching Peter's retreating figure.

"I was wondering why you let Peter call you big sister? Isn't that messing with the hierarchy? You're making Spider-Man seventy years older for no reason," Ren teased.

"You'd best shut up quickly, you parasite!" Natasha was so annoyed her teeth itched, and she couldn't help but curse.

"No, I like to chat. You can't stop me from talking, can you?"

"Get lost."

Last night's explosion at Stark Industries had already caused a sensation. Ordinary people, unaware of the facts, woke up the next morning and started reading the latest newspapers.

"Your newspaper!"

The paperboy rode his bicycle, tossing the newspaper onto James's doorstep. James, 45 this year and a bit overweight, was eating breakfast and gave the departing paperboy the middle finger.

"Little rascal."

He opened the door and picked up the newspaper from the lawn. He had always been a loyal reader of the New York Times.

He opened the paper and saw a huge, half-page color photograph on the front page. It was a robot, red with a golden mask, looking very imposing.

"Wow, this thing is really cool. Is it cosplay?" James looked down with interest. Below was a large headline.

"Searching for a Superhero. Who is Iron Man?"

"Iron Man, Iron Man?"

He held the newspaper and carefully read the news below.

He discovered that this Iron Man was actually a suspected real person who had appeared last night in Los Angeles.

Next to it was a photo of Stark Industries, where a huge explosion seemed to have occurred.

"This is incredible. An explosion at Stark Industries? And this mysterious Iron Man appeared there?"

Undoubtedly, the New York Times' front-page headline attracted countless readers' attention.

Curious audiences noticed that while many newspapers today reported on Iron Man in text, only the New York Times had clear photos and live video on its official website.

The newspapers printed this morning quickly sold out.

Many sales points called, requesting additional prints of today's issue, and the sales performance made the editorial department members beam with joy.

The ability to photograph Iron Man was thanks to Peter, who was cheating.

Peter was also rewarded by the New York Times' boss, becoming an official reporter. The difference in treatment between an official reporter and an intern is significant.

The task of writing the article was also given to Peter. Peter, being a high-achieving student, lived up to expectations and wrote an exceptionally well-written piece.

This also made Peter Parker somewhat famous, though most reporters believed Peter was just lucky, and if they had been there, Peter wouldn't have had a chance.

"I don't know who he is or where he comes from, but in our past experiences, we have often encountered such people. They possess miraculous abilities.

Some harm one side, belonging to evil, while others belong to justice, saving the world. These people are what we call superheroes."

"They seek neither fame nor glory, hiding discreetly among us. Perhaps a struggling clerk, a student, a rancher, or even a billionaire could be one of them. It is because of them that our world becomes more stable."

Natasha looked at the next day's newspaper, which was filled with Spider-Man's sentiments.

She casually picked up a glass of milk nearby, took a sip, and laughed, "It feels like the little guy has figured out Tony's identity. Student, clerk, billionaire—it's quite fitting."

"After all, Peter is also Spider-Man, who maintains order in New York, so it's not strange for him to have such feelings," Ren said while rolling a chocolate ball into his mouth.

This was Natasha's residence, so there was no need for him to hide inside Natasha's body. He could appear openly.

"Please hand me an apple," Natasha glanced at the fruit basket nearby. She didn't want to get up, so she could only turn to Ren and say.

"Hey, are you planning to be lazy to death? It's such a short distance. You wouldn't die if you got up and walked two steps," Ren complained. His tentacles instantly placed the apple in Natasha's hand.

"Isn't it because of you? I'm not afraid of gaining weight, so of course I have to be good to myself," Natasha stretched lazily and said playfully.
