Chapter 74: Prom Promises

(Jay Jay's POV)

Graduation ended in chaos.

Obviously.

Section E didn't leave quietly.

They never do.

Felix was still replaying the "my sexy man" moment.

Blaster kept yelling "ICONIC" every five minutes.

Ci N was narrating our lives like a documentary.

Denzel couldn't stop laughing.

Even David was smiling a little.

And somehow…

In the middle of all that noise—

Someone said the word.

Ella:

"Prom."

Everything paused.

Mica gasped softly.

Mica:

"Oh my god… prom."

Rakhi crossed her arms.

Rakhi:

"Finally something important."

Grace smirked.

Grace:

"This is where things get interesting."

Freya flipped her hair dramatically.

Freya:

"Obviously."

I blinked.

Jay:

"…oh."

Prom.

Right.

Ella clapped her hands.

Ella:

"We need dresses."

Mica nodded excitedly.

Mica:

"And makeup."

Rakhi:

"And heels."

Grace:

"And attitude."

Freya smirked slightly.

Freya:

"Some of you need that."

Her eyes flicked to me.

Just for a second.

I noticed.

Of course I noticed.

But I didn't react.

Jay:

"So… we're all going together?"

Mica smiled warmly.

Mica:

"Of course."

Rakhi nodded.

Rakhi:

"Girls' planning night."

Grace:

"This is going to be chaos."

Ella:

"I'm excited!"

Freya just crossed her arms.

Freya:

"Let's just make sure we don't look basic."

Jay (smirking slightly):

"Don't worry. I don't do basic."

Grace let out a small approving laugh.

Grace:

"Good answer."

And just like that—

Plans were made.

Outfits.

Themes.

Colors.

Looks.

Everything.

After a while…

Everyone started leaving.

Going back to their own homes.

The chaos slowly faded.

And then—

It was just me and Keifer.

Watson Mansion.

Quiet again.

I kicked off my shoes and dropped onto the couch.

Jay:

"I'm tired."

Keifer walked in behind me.

Loosening his tie slightly.

Keifer:

"You screamed a lot today."

Jay:

"You deserved it."

Keifer smirked.

Keifer:

"I liked it."

I rolled my eyes.

Then sat up suddenly.

Jay:

"Wait."

Keifer raised an eyebrow.

Keifer:

"What?"

Jay:

"Prom."

He paused.

Keifer:

"Yeah?"

Jay:

"What should I wear?"

He didn't answer immediately.

Instead—

He walked closer.

Slowly.

Then gently took my wrist.

My breath hitched slightly.

Keifer pulled me toward him.

And sat down.

Then—

Pulled me onto his lap.

Jay:

"Keifer—"

Keifer (softly):

"Relax."

His arm wrapped around my waist naturally.

Like that's where I belonged.

Keifer looked at me.

Not teasing this time.

Not smirking.

Just… soft.

Keifer:

"Buy whatever you like."

I blinked.

Jay:

"…what?"

Keifer:

"I'll pay for it."

Jay:

"No—"

Keifer gently tilted my chin up.

Keifer:

"You need to be spoiled."

My cheeks burned instantly.

Jay:

"I don't need to be spoiled."

Keifer smirked slightly.

Keifer:

"I want to spoil you."

I looked away.

Trying to hide my blush.

Jay:

"You're impossible."

Keifer:

"And you love it."

Jay:

"…unfortunately."

He chuckled softly.

Then leaned closer.

Keifer:

"Just tell me the color."

I looked back at him.

Jay:

"Color?"

Keifer nodded.

Keifer:

"I'll wear a matching tie."

My heart did something stupid.

Jay:

"…you're serious."

Keifer:

"Very."

I hesitated for a moment.

Thinking.

Then smiled slightly.

Jay:

"Midnight."

Keifer raised an eyebrow.

Jay:

"Deep midnight blue."

For a second—

He just stared at me.

Then he smiled.

Soft.

Keifer:

"Perfect."

His hand tightened slightly around my waist.

Keifer:

"Then I'll match."

I leaned into him slightly.

Without thinking.

Jay:

"You better."

Keifer smirked.

Keifer:

"I always do."

And just like that—

Prom wasn't just an event anymore.

It became something else.

A night.

A moment.

Where chaos…

Love…

And a little bit of jealousy—

Would shine brighter than anything else.
