Chapter 1 - Misfortune Comes In Threes.

#2026

"Have we met somewhere?"

A very particularly handsome stranger asked Elizabeth.

Elizabeth looked at his face and said.

"No."

That guy blushed and stuttered with a loss of what to say next.

Elizabeth didn't wait to see the entirety of his reaction and continued on her way. It was plenty late for work already.

"Ah! Wait! I'm… I'm…" the stranger blocked her way and stuttered again.

"I need to go to work, if you'd please," she said, robotically.

"I'm Eric. I mean, my name is Eric Rosewood!" he blurted out in a hurry.

"Ok," Elizabeth said, moving right past him on to the crossway.

"Wait!!"

He shouted again.

Oh! For god's sake.

Elizabeth turned around, only to see Eric jumping towards her.

Everything else happened in an instant.

She was pushed aside from a car speeding towards her. As she laid on the road, in shock, the flicker of the red light echoed inside her eyes.

And there was Eric, her latest acquaintance, bleeding out from his head after getting hit by a car in her place.

The crowd called an ambulance.

He was tuckered away within what felt like seconds. She was with him.

Work didn't matter anymore.

Someone had almost died because of her.

Elizabeth held his hand, trembling and praying that he may survive.

Another girl named Elizabeth, was reading a book while hiding in her parents' estate moors.

Her book seemed awfully difficult for her age.

She had green emerald like eyes and wavy brown hair. Her small face almost hid her disdainful personality.

Which was apparently discovered as she looked down at a boy similar to her in age. She had walked in that direction to investigate a queer sound that hadn't before been heard near her secret refuge.

The presence of a near dead heavily injured boy in clearly royal attire didn't amuse her much.

It was already hard as such to read science books behind her mother's back. Now this 'thing' had to appear and make this location apparent to the family.

She figured ignoring the almost dead child would be better for her secret. She turned around to leave.

"Please… help me…" a cry escaped the child.

She turned around and met the boy's golden eyes.

Ah, royalty for sure.

She sighed and went near 'it'.

"My name is Er… Eren," the boy said hesitantly.

Liar. You're the only crown prince of this country. Your name is Eric.

Elizabeth could clearly see through the boy's desperate attempts to hide his identity. He must've met assassins that wanted him dead for some 'reason'.

"Alright, Eren. I need you buckle up and walk," she said, putting one of his arms around her neck. "With how far away we are, if I go and come back with help, you'll be dead by then."

The boy seemed horrified at the idea. Groaning and whimpering with pain, he dragged himself along her with the tiny support a five year old girl could provide.

"Be a little quiet, will you?" Elizabeth said as they trudged away to the manor. "Wild animals come here if you're too loud and bloody. Making sounds doesn't help your case since you have an abundance of blood."

The boy had figured the girl to be quite rude. But he couldn't say anything to his current sole benefactor and saviour.

I can figure such things after I make it alive.

The servants were quite terrified when the 'queer' lady of the manor had arrived with a bloody boy around her tiny wee shoulders.

It was very entertaining for Elizabeth.

The boy was hurried away for treatment and Elizabeth for questioning.

"It's admirable that you took the initiative to help someone, Beth," Mary Elle, Elizabeth's older sister said wiping the blood of her face.

The parents seemed proud too. So did the toddler that had waddled his way into the salon. It seemed oddly insulting but Elizabeth couldn't care much.

She drag… picked up the toddler, Johannes, the youngest of the three siblings, and made her way to his room, to put him to sleep.

Elizabeth liked Johannes the most out of all her family. Because he hardly nagged at her and seemed most interested in tasting whatever he could get his hands on instead of the other presence in his nursery.

Elizabeth crossed the boy's room where he was being treated. Weird and strange noises came from inside.

Just scream here. Does he think the animals will come here too?

The idea seemed oddly amusing as Elizabeth chuckled.

"This is the girl you asked for," a man with yellowish teeth and eyes said to the young general.

The handsome golden eyed man seemed very out of place in the muddy slums area.

A cage like cart was pulled out of the tent and inside seemed a sole individual.

A girl with emerald eyes.

She looked feral, her hair rough with mistreatment and her nails broken as if used a weapons. And the most striking thing, her mouth covered in blood as if she had bitten into live flesh.

"Many a lot came to take her, she's come back within an hour," the yellow man said.

The general gazed up at the girl and looked into her eyes.

She seemed wary and ready to scratch his face off.

"She's untouched. No man has been able to take her. She's a fierce one at resistance," the yellow man described his product which clearly irked the general a bit.

He walked closer to the cage, and holding his hand inside, said, "Is your name Elizabeth, by chance?"

In response, a deep bite was gifted on his hand inside the cage. The general didn't flinch or scream as the blood dripped down from his hand and her lips.

"I'm Eric. Nice to meet you, Elizabeth."

He said, smiling.
