A scream was heard coming from the front
Ryan and Anna were in the middle of a moving formation, and a few feet behind them was Serissa in her wagon.
Ryan looked in the direction of the shouts as soldiers drew their swords, ready to fight.
One of the soldiers at the front shouted:
"They are the wolves with three eyes."
'Three-eyes wolves?'
Ryan looked towards the source of the screaming and noticed something black biting a soldier's foot; if it weren't for the armor covering the foot, it would have been torn off.
In the blink of an eye, a black wolf rushed towards the motionless soldier and pounced on him.
At that moment, Ryan glimpsed the shape of that wolf.
It was black in color, and its mouth was wide open, revealing its sharp fangs and claws gleaming like a new sword.
But what distinguished him was something in the middle of his forehead where he had a third eye, as all his eyes were colored red.
The wolf was ferocious as it charged towards the soldier, saliva dripping from its mouth and fangs.
When the wolf reached the shoulder, all that remained was for it to close its mouth to tear the shoulder apart.
The earth turned a crimson red, Ryan's eyes widened.
The blood on the ground was not the soldier's, but the wolf's.
The wolf's head was severed from its body in the blink of an eye before it reached the soldier, and the person who did this was a female soldier carrying a white sword the color of snow, stained with the wolf's blood.
Ryan turned his head to look back, then looked at Anna in surprise ,she was not behind him
Instead, she stood before the wolf's carcass, looking at it with indifference.
'How did you get there?'
Although the distance was just feet, Anna covered it in the blink of an eye.
Then, in a surprising turn of events, the head of the second wolf, which had been biting the soldier's foot, was cut off.
Then Anna took out a piece of cloth, brought it close to Siha, and wiped the blood off him.
Then she began walking toward Ryan, and as she went, she shouted:
"Frost soldiers, First Formation now!"
The sodiers shouted back in unison:
"Yes, sir!"
Then the soldiers began to advance, forming two circles; the center of the second circle was where Seresa had been.
Some soldiers had dismounted from their horses, while others mounted them.
When Anna reached Ryan and grabbed Luna's reins
She screamed:
"Get ready!"
Moments later, a pack of ferocious wolves emerged from the trees and charged towards the front line of soldiers.
All wolves had three eyes.
A wolf charged forward and charged with its claws at a soldier who was using a sword as a weapon.
The soldier deflected the wolf's claws with his wrist, which was protected by a shield, then thrust his sword towards the wolf's mouth and pierced its head.
The wolf's claws only caused scratches on his armor, but to his surprise, a second wolf charged towards him.
The soldier was slow to withdraw his sword from the first wolf's body.
The second wolf opened its mouth to attack the soldier's right side with its fangs, which were stronger than its claws.
But just before the wolf reached the soldier, a spear pierced his body, killing him instantly.
Behind the first row of soldiers, the second row was not a spectator
The second-string soldiers were throwing arrows at the wolves and protecting their comrades whose reactions were delayed.
Ryan muttered to himself,
"So this is how they fight."
The Frost Soldiers fought intelligently and skillfully; if a soldier took a step, he had to ensure that someone was protecting his back.
Of course, in wars this tactic would be useless, as soldiers cannot always look after each other.
But in smaller confrontations, it was extremely useful, as the losses would be minimal, and also when facing enemies who did not think like these wolves that were rushing forward, teamwork was the best thing to do, in Ryan's opinion.
The battle lasted less than five minutes, and the Frost Soldiers killed all the wolves that attacked them without suffering any casualties on their side.
Anna, who had stood in front of Ryan throughout the fight, didn't move. She just looked at him and smiled.
"Are you okay?"
Ryan shook his head.
"Fine."
"Good, don't worry. These things happen a few times. It's true that our kingdom isn't as full of monsters as other kingdoms, but these things happen when the monsters are very hungry."
"Where they come out of their nests and caves to search for food"
This was Ryan's first time seeing monsters, though he had read about them in books. The information in those books was scant, stating only that the current king of this kingdom had launched a campaign that frightened the monsters from leaving their nests.
'Oh ، Monsters, this world never ceases to amaze me.'
