Chapter 35 - Geography

It was time to get moving, and Ryan was hungry because he had skipped breakfast and immersed himself in training.

Ryan arrived at Anna's location with her horse, and upon his arrival, Anna threw two things at him.

Ryan grabbed two things which were a piece of bread and a bottle of milk.

"Eat quickly, we need to start moving."

Ryan looked at Anna, and she noticed his gaze.

"What? I heard you skipped breakfast, so I brought you some food."

"Wait, why am I justifying bringing you food? Aren't you supposed to be thankful? And also, stop looking at me with that look."

Ryan turned his gaze back to his food and began to eat, quickly eating the bread and drinking the milk.

When he finished, Anna carried him and placed him on the horse's back, then she mounted the horse by herself.

'Ugh, I hate this position'

The situation was extremely embarrassing for him, as there was a woman who seemed to be hugging him from behind, and her chest was touching the back of his head.

Ryan put up with it because he didn't know how to ride a horse and also preferred to stay with Anna for some reason.

Minutes after they moved on, Ryan noticed that Anna was this time at the back of the group, not in front of Serissa or at the front of the group.

Ryan then decided to ask her about the geography of their kingdom, which was called Kaelith

"We said we would talk about geography along the way."

Anna remembered their conversation that morning after he spoke.

"Ah, geography, right."

Anna scratched her chin.

"Mmmmmm"

"Well, firstly, the continent where our kingdom, the Kingdom of Kaelith, is located is the continent of Arthalia, and on this continent there are five kingdoms...or six."

"Our kingdom is located in the center of the continent, and therefore all other kingdoms border us."

"First, from the north, we find the kingdom of Valndor."

Ryan interrupted her.

"Isn't the North where you came from?"

"Yes, it is the place we came from. In fact, our job is to guard the border between our kingdom and the kingdom of Valndor."

After he answered, Anna continued her explanation.

"And to the east, we are bordered by the Kingdom of Kavalon "

"Before entering the kingdom of Kavalon from our kingdom or vice versa, one must cross a desert filled with various monsters."

"Some people risk their lives to cross, and some hire adventurers to protect them. Of course things have become a little easier now."

Upon hearing Kavalon name Ryan clenched his fist from angry , but he calmed himself and listened to Anna's words, and wondered:

"How did things become easier crossing the desert?"

Anna didn't answer him.

"I'll explain this next time, so let me finish."

"Where were you? Yes, I said who was in the east. Now, in the west we are bordered by the Kingdom of Doraval, a kingdom with which we have had good relations for years."

"Now, to the southwest, we are bordered by the Kingdom of Solfera."

"And to the south there is a border with a land that has no name, from which monsters flow, so many soldiers are stationed there to protect the border with the south."

"Some soldiers called that region Arxila , as it also borders the kingdoms of Solfera and Kavalon"

After Anna fell silent, Ryan spoke:

"Can I ask now?"

"Yes, ask anything."

Ryan was curious about something he remembered, the emblem he saw on the shoulder of the person named Arkian Valros to confirm something.

"Is there a kingdom whose emblem is a hammer and anvil crossed in the middle with a dark iron shield behind them?"

Anna thought for a moment.

"Hmm, oh, I think you're talking about Kavalon, but where did you see that logo?"

Ryan dodged the question by lying.

"I saw it in a book ."

"A book... Well, that doesn't matter. Since we've finished, let's move on to your previous question: how did crossing the desert become so easy?"
