Chapter 24 - Separation of brothers

A year has passed since Ryan woken up, and he has spent most of that year lying in bed.

It can be said that he has recovered, but not completely, and he doesn't want to put too much pressure on himself.

Last year he used the ice element several times, and it was the same as when he used it before, except he felt tired faster and felt colder.

As for the element of fire, he used it only a few times, and it was a secret he kept from his family.

He didn't use it much and used it sparingly, but it made his body hot and he noticed that the veins on his hands were slightly red.

Today was the day his sister Ari and Mira left for the academy.

Although his younger sister was happy that he woke up, Ryan noticed that there was a distance between them in their relationship.

Ryan couldn't talk to her because she didn't visit him in his room often and was mostly training.

Ari was a wind element user and trained extensively with Lyara and Celine.

As for Mira, after that conversation she had, she began to take care of him most of the time.

Mira was standing in front of the door carrying Ari's bag.

And next to her was Ari, who cried when she was separated from her family for the first time.

Mira patted Ari on the back.

"We must say goodbye to them."

Ari wiped the tears from her eyes and looked towards her family.

Ryan was leaning on a metal crutch his father had made to help him walk. He would have preferred a wooden one, but since it was from his father, he accepted it without complaint.

Ari was looking at her family members one by one, her eyes shining with affection and love, but when her gaze reached Ryan, Ryan noticed a slight change.

With a look of emotion and love, he noticed some sadness and self-blame.

'It seems everyone in this family blames themselves.'

Ryan sighed and began walking towards Ari with the help of his crutch.

'I can't stand the clicking sound. I wish I could walk properly again without getting tired.'

According to the calculations, he should have been able to move his body without discomfort before joining the academy next year.

Ryan stood before Ari. Ari raised her head to look at him questioningly.

"big brother...?"

Ryan raised his hand and placed it on her head and began to pat her.

"I'll catch up with you in a year, so you need to get stronger during this time, okay?"

Ari looked at him, but a look of sadness crossed her face.

"I'll do what I can, but despite channeling my energy for a whole year, I haven't noticed any change."

"Then try harder."

She looked at him in surprise.

"If you don't notice a change, keep trying until you do. You mustn't give up, okay?"

At that moment, her eyes lit up and she beamed slightly at his words.

"Okay."

"And also..."

He began to think of his next words

"Stay safe, don't skip your meals, and get a good night's sleep there."

Then he knelt on one knee, put down his crutch, and hugged her.

But Ari was holding back her tears; she carried the burden of becoming stronger to protect herself and her family.

Don't be a burden as happened before.

Therefore, in her thoughts, she was feeling sorry for Ryan.

'I'm sorry, brother. I promise you that next time I'll be the one to protect you.'

After escaping, Ari and Mira invited the rest of the family and they boarded the carriage to head to the capital.

Which required two months of travel

After returning to his room, Ryan considered his next step.

He looked at his body, then lay back on the bed and sighed.

"I think I should start doing sport."
