Chapter 82 - Chapter 82 ▻ Naruto’s Wild Brainstorm

With abundant life force and enough chakra, the basic requirements for the Rinne Rebirth technique were met.

It was time to prepare to revive Nawaki and Dan.

So Mizuki sent Naruto to the Land of Birds' capital to bring Tsunade back.

With Flying Thunder God, Naruto was unbelievably fast. Look at him — he threw a kunai, and in the blink of an eye it flew more than a hundred meters. Then he used Flying Thunder God to appear beside it, snatched it up, and threw it again. Once it flew another hundred meters, he teleported to it again…

A ninja's physique was far stronger than an ordinary person's, and the kunai they threw traveled extremely fast. The instant it left the hand, a kunai could reach speeds of more than a hundred meters per second. Air resistance would slow it down, but thanks to its streamlined design, the drop in speed wasn't too large.

On average, a kunai could cover a hundred meters in under 1.5 seconds. Factoring in the time needed to swing his arm and throw, Naruto's overall movement speed with Flying Thunder God was about 50 meters per second.

"Still not fast enough!"

Naruto wasn't satisfied. He pulled out a second special kunai.

Two kunai — No. 1 and No. 2 — shot forward one after the other, with No. 1 in front and No. 2 behind. When Kunai No. 1 had flown about a hundred meters, Kunai No. 2 had flown fifty.

Naruto activated Flying Thunder God, appeared beside Kunai No. 2, grabbed it, and threw it forward. Then he teleported to Kunai No. 1, grabbed it, and threw it forward.

By then, Kunai No. 2 had already surged ahead again, so he flashed to it, grabbed it, and threw it forward… Throw No. 1, throw No. 2, back to No. 1 — Naruto advanced at top speed.

And while he was throwing one kunai, the other was still in flight. That meant the time spent swinging his arm was no longer "wasted", and his movement speed reached its limit.

Roughly 70 meters per second. Basically, he was as fast as the kunai could fly.

Back then, his dad had been called the fastest man in the ninja world. Now, that title belonged to him.

Of course, he had to be careful using this method. Every time he flashed to one kunai, the other would be flying in from behind. If he wasn't careful and it stabbed into him, that would be ridiculous.

Also, this kind of travel was brutal on the hands — use it too much and you'd end up with "disabled hands".

It had to be said — Naruto's brain could be very flexible at certain times.

As he flashed along, Naruto grew dissatisfied again. Could he go even faster? He stopped and thought for a moment, and then his eyes lit up.

"I've got it! Heh heh!"

He looked around, found a bamboo grove, cut down a stalk, and shaved off the branches. Then he tied a special kunai to the top, holding the bottom in his hands. The bamboo was about five meters long, like a spear pointing straight ahead.

"The kunai is on the tip, five meters away from me. As long as I use Flying Thunder God, I'll teleport to the kunai's location. Since the kunai is tied to the bamboo and I'm holding it, when I move forward five meters, the bamboo and kunai move forward five meters too. That way, I can keep using Flying Thunder God forward nonstop. Each time is only five meters, but Flying Thunder God is instant. I tested it before — I can flash thirty times per second. That means 150 meters per second!"

After doing the math, Naruto was delighted. He could even use longer bamboo later, making it faster still.

He tightened his grip on the bamboo. In the next instant, Flying Thunder God activated. In the next instant, he appeared at the special kunai's position — and the bamboo in his hands moved forward five meters with him.

"Yes! It works!"

Naruto was thrilled, but then he noticed something strange.

The kunai tied to the bamboo's tip flickered rapidly between its original position and its new position. The more it flickered, the paler it became — until finally, it vanished completely.

"How could this happen?" Naruto stared wide-eyed, as if he'd seen a ghost.

He couldn't understand it at all.

So he took out a new kunai and tried again. The same thing happened — flickering again and again until the kunai disappeared.

"Once is an accident. Twice means something's wrong. But why?"

He couldn't figure it out, so he set it aside for now and planned to ask Mizuki after he got back.

{T/N: Here goes a long explanation. Just pass it if you don't want to read more:

The phenomenon can be explained by combining the internal logic of Hiraishin with scientific concepts related to spatial reference.

The Flying Thunder God Technique does not involve continuous movement. It works as an instant jump: the user stops existing at one point in space and begins existing directly at the marked location. To do that, the technique relies on a fixed anchor — in this case, the kunai — which serves as the absolute reference for teleportation.

In the described experiment, however, that fundamental condition is broken. The kunai, which should remain stationary as the destination point, is tied to a bamboo pole that the user is holding. As a result, the very moment the jutsu is activated, an unavoidable conflict arises: by the logic of teleportation, the kunai must remain in its original position (to function as a fixed destination); but by physical logic, it is dragged along with the user to a new position. This creates a paradox in which the kunai tries to occupy two mutually incompatible positions at the same time.

This can be compared to the concept of quantum superposition, in which an object can exist simultaneously in multiple states. However, because the system cannot sustain that duality for long, a process analogous to quantum decoherence occurs: the instability degrades the definition of the object's state. As a result, the kunai begins oscillating between the two positions (the observed "flicker"), gradually loses coherence, and eventually disappears completely.

Within the logic of the Naruto universe, this means the Hiraishin mark loses its spatial anchoring. Without a fixed and stable position, chakra cannot "lock" the object into physical space, leading to its collapse — or erasure.

In simple terms: the kunai ceases to exist because its position becomes indefinite, trapped in an impossible loop where it is, at the same time, both the starting point and the destination of the teleport.}

Inside Naruto's body, the Nine-Tails opened its eyes.

"This brat… his weird ideas are even worse than Kushina's and Minato's. I really don't know how his brain is built."

Even Kurama was stunned by Naruto's wild imagination. It had lived for over a thousand years — what weird things hadn't it seen?

But this stunt was something it never would've imagined.

Using his two-kunai method, Naruto reached the Land of Birds' capital at top speed and found Tsunade in a casino.

"Naruto, why are you here?" Shizune asked.

Naruto said, "Master Mizuki is back. He wants Granny Tsunade to return to the village. Oh right — Master also brought back a red-haired girl named Karin Uzumaki. She has the same surname as me. She's timid and kind of a simp."

Shizune asked curiously, "Why do you say she's a simp?"

Naruto pouted, "Hmph. She kept sneaking looks at Sasuke, and her face turned red. If that's not simping, what is? Even Sakura never looked at Sasuke like that."

Shizune: "She was sneaking looks at Sasuke and you noticed? Were you sneaking looks at her?"

Naruto shouted, "No! I was looking openly!"

At that moment, Tsunade slapped the table and barked, "Shut up! You're so noisy you're breaking my train of thought."

Naruto pouted, "Tch. Thought or no thought, it's the same — you're going to lose anyway. Alright, Granny Tsunade, stop playing and hurry back to the village."

Tsunade said irritably, "Wait. Let me finish this round."

Soon, she lost. But she wasn't satisfied and wanted another round.

Shizune said, "Lady Tsunade, Lord Fushikage is looking for you. It must be about that matter. We should go back first."

Tsunade's expression changed, "Fine. Let's go back."

The two of them — and Tonton — left the casino and returned to Fushigakure.

On the way, Naruto said, "Granny Tsunade, I think you should learn to smoke."

Tsunade raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

Naruto: "Think about it — when you gamble, you put one foot on the table and hold a cigarette in the corner of your mouth. Just imagining it is badass."

Shizune automatically pictured it and instantly felt terrible.

"Oink!" Tonton looked equally speechless.

Tsunade's eyes lit up, "You're right. How did I never think of that?"

Naruto said, beaming, "My suggestion is good, right? With that badass look, you'll scare the other gamblers so badly they'll lose their nerve — and even their luck. Then everyone else loses and you win!"

The more he talked, the brighter Tsunade's eyes became.

"Shizune, turn back right now and buy me a pack of cigarettes. Don't forget a lighter. Starting today, I'm learning to smoke."

Shizune: …

"Lady Tsunade, smoking is harmful to your health. It damages your trachea and lungs. I really think you shouldn't — "

Tsunade: "It's fine. I'm a medical ninja. I don't have to worry about my health."

"Lady Tsunade, smoking will stain your teeth yellow. It'll ruin your peerless beauty."

Tsunade: "It's fine. I'm a medical ninja. I can make effective toothpaste. No fear of yellow teeth."

"Lady Tsunade, the casino bans smoking."

Tsunade: "Tomorrow I'll negotiate with the owner and change the rules."

"Lady Tsunade…"

Tsunade snapped, "Are you done? Do what I said."

Naruto said, "I'll go. I'm fast."

Fushikage Tower.

When Mizuki saw Tsunade stride into the office with a cigarette in the corner of her mouth, puffing smoke the whole way, the corner of his eye twitched.

What on earth happened? How had she turned into a chain-smoker?

"Ahem. Smoking gives you bad breath. Aren't you afraid that when Dan revives, he'll dislike you?" Mizuki couldn't hold it in.

Tsunade paused mid-drag, then continued as if she hadn't heard him, "I'm a medical ninja. I can make medicine to clear bad breath."

Mizuki: "…"

He gave up.

"The basic conditions to revive Nawaki and Dan are met. Next, we just need to go to Konoha, bring back their living matter, and we can revive them."

Rinne Rebirth could revive the dead, but it couldn't bring someone back out of thin air.

Nagato could revive Konoha's people because he wasn't reviving one specific individual — he targeted the entire village and revived everyone who had just died.

Black Zetsu could use Rinne Rebirth to revive Madara because he knew Madara, knew his traits, and knew where he was.

Mizuki didn't know Nawaki or Dan personally. He couldn't revive them by name alone. So he needed their living matter — a portion of their physical body — to revive them.

"Tell me where they were buried. I'll go get it. I'm fast."

Tsunade nodded and told Mizuki the burial locations of Nawaki and Dan in detail.

At that moment, Naruto cut in.

"Master, can you revive my dad and mom too? They were so young when they died."

Mizuki nodded, "Sure."

So, just after returning to the village, he set out again!

Watching Mizuki fly off into the distance, Tsunade, Shizune, and Naruto's eyes filled with anticipation. They were looking forward to seeing their loved ones revived.
