Chapter 166 - Chapter 166 Deprivation and Transfer

"They aren't actually targeting us," Yan said calmly.

"They're mainly targeting the people protected by the Divine Spear Bureau."

She activated her Angel Eye and analyzed the battlefield below.

Streams of data flashed across her vision.

"One of them possesses an ability that slows down time locally," she continued.

"It appears to be related to temporal manipulation."

She turned toward Karl.

"Aren't you interested?"

Karl nodded slightly after hearing her explanation.

He immediately extended his mental perception downward.

Within seconds, he located the man called Da Jie, the one responsible for slowing time.

Karl glanced briefly at Yelena.

Then he opened the Shadow World.

Hundreds of Shadow Ninjas instantly dispersed across multiple regions of the world—particularly war zones and criminal hotspots in the Middle East.

Their mission was simple.

Eliminate criminals and collect their souls.

Thanks to Karl's Mind Control ability and the power of the Soul Stone, he could temporarily attach fragments of his consciousness to the shadow soldiers.

This allowed him to selectively harvest the souls of individuals who had committed serious crimes.

Within moments, Karl gathered ten units of Overwrite Energy.

Karl then raised his hand.

Using telekinesis, he lifted Da Jie and the teleportation user into the air.

At the same time, he gently pulled Yelena upward beside him.

The two Altar members immediately attempted to activate their powers.

But nothing happened.

Karl's psychic power had already blocked the neural commands in their brains.

Their abilities still existed.

But the signals from their brains could no longer activate them.

They could only think about using their powers—

Without actually doing so.

Karl placed one hand on Da Jie's shoulder.

His other hand rested on Yelena's shoulder.

Then he activated True Copy.

A flash of white light enveloped both of them.

In the next moment—

Da Jie's temporal slowing ability transferred directly into Yelena's body.

Karl had copied the power and assigned it to her.

He didn't even glance at the horrified expression on Da Jie's face.

Next, Karl turned to the teleportation user.

He placed his hand on the man's chest.

"True Rewrite."

A blue glow appeared.

Moments later, a small blue crystal materialized in Karl's palm.

The man's teleportation ability had been completely stripped away.

The power had been condensed into a physical form.

The man immediately felt something inside his body disappear.

His face turned pale with terror.

He opened his mouth, trying to scream—

But no sound came out.

Yelena looked at Karl in shock.

She could clearly feel the new power flowing through her body.

Black Phoenix remained expressionless.

Yan, however, watched the process with clear curiosity.

Below them, the Divine Spear Bureau agents stood frozen in disbelief.

Even Zheng Xian felt conflicted.

They had clearly seen what happened.

Karl had not only removed someone's ability—

He had also transferred it to someone else.

And the crystal in Karl's hand was obvious proof.

Karl's gaze swept across the remaining members of Altar.

A cold blue light flashed in his eyes.

Every member of the organization suddenly froze in place.

But this was not ordinary freezing.

Karl had directly stopped their vital functions.

Their bodies remained standing—

But they were already dead.

Karl then turned toward Yelena.

"Train this ability properly," he said calmly.

"If you develop it well, it could become extremely powerful."

"Let's go back."

Karl raised his hand.

A Shadow Ninja suddenly emerged from the shadows.

Beside it stood Juggernaut.

Juggernaut looked absolutely miserable.

He was covered in mud from head to toe, as if he had just crawled out of a swamp.

Karl couldn't help but smile.

Apparently the portal had dropped him somewhere unpleasant.

Karl opened a blue-black dimensional portal.

On the other side—

The courtyard residence appeared.

Karl stepped through first.

Behind him followed:

Black Phoenix

Yan

Peter

Pietro

Yelena

Juggernaut

Karl didn't even glance at Zheng Xian before leaving.

This incident hadn't been directed at Karl himself.

It had targeted the Divine Spear Bureau.

The attackers had simply wanted to kill the Bureau's protected guests as retaliation.

From Karl's perspective, the Bureau was fortunate he didn't pursue responsibility further.

Frankly, Karl was dissatisfied.

The response time of the Divine Spear Bureau had been painfully slow.

By the time their agents arrived—

Peter and Pietro had already been captured.

If Karl had not intervened, the situation could have become far worse.

Still, since both of them were unharmed, Karl chose not to pursue the matter.

Back inside the courtyard residence, everyone sat down.

Peter and Pietro removed their Vibranium armor.

Both of them stood quietly with their heads lowered.

Neither dared to look at Karl.

May glared angrily at them.

Wanda also stared fiercely at Pietro.

Karl remained silent.

He seemed to be thinking about something.

His gaze shifted between Helen Cho and May, as if deciding who should receive a certain item.

Then something suddenly occurred to him.

Karl reached into his system space.

He pulled out the palm-sized flying sword.

Next, he summoned the Mind Stone.

Golden psychic energy flowed from the stone as Karl carefully unsealed the sword.

He continued channeling energy into it, repairing the damaged formations inside.

Gradually, the flying sword returned to its original state.

It was beautifully crafted.

Elegant.

Perfectly balanced.

Karl continued supplying energy until—

Flash!

A burst of white light erupted.

The sword floated gently into the air.

Karl knew the restoration was complete.

The flying sword slowly circled above everyone's heads.

Then it stopped in front of Karl.

It seemed uncertain.

Perhaps it had not yet found a suitable master.

Karl glanced at Helen Cho.

Then he grabbed the sword and activated True Replication.

A white flash appeared.

The flying sword suddenly broke free from Karl's hand.

It flew directly toward Helen Cho.

The sword entered her body instantly.

Helen Cho froze in confusion.

Moments later—

The sword flew back out.

It transformed into a ninety-centimeter-long blade and hovered quietly in front of her.

Karl nodded.

The replication had successfully rewritten the sword's recognition.

It had now accepted Helen Cho as its master.

Karl explained calmly.

"This is an ancient flying sword from Eastern cultivation traditions."

"It originally belonged to a female cultivator."

"After its owner died, the sword sealed itself."

"It eventually ended up in the hands of wealthy collectors."

"They traded it to me in exchange for lifespan."

Karl gestured toward Helen Cho.

"It has now recognized you as its master."

"If you ever encounter danger, the sword will automatically emerge to protect you."

Helen Cho's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wow!"

"Thank you, Karl!"

She suddenly jumped into Karl's arms and kissed him.

"Mua!"

Karl laughed softly and kissed her back.
