Chapter 35 - Chapter 34 — The War of Massage and Tic-Tac-Toe

. . . GROOOOAAAR!

"Where do you think you're going?"

Why do I have to fight the strongest one?

As soon as my friends shouted, everyone spread out in groups. I don't remember us agreeing on that.

"You look pretty weak. Why do I have to fight you?"

Is this ogre already trying to quit before the fight even starts?

"That's true, I'm very weak. It would be a waste for you to use all your strength against a little girl like me."

Wow, what a relief. There was no way I could defeat that wall of muscle.

"I didn't want to be in this fight either. The truth is, I was forced into it."

The ogre scratched his hairy belly.

"Neither you nor I want to fight, so can I leave?"

I made a gesture of gratitude and bowed my head.

"No."

What did he say?

"Repeat that?"

"I said no. If I refuse to fight, I'll die."

The ogre pulled his sword from its sheath.

"Please, I'll do anything, just don't kill me. I still have many things to do."

What I'm doing is humiliating, but it doesn't matter. I want to survive.

"You have nothing to offer me. Look at yourself—you don't even have clothes. Ha ha ha. . ."

That's true, I really have nothing, but. . .

"I can give you a massage."

I lifted my head to look over the battlefield. Everyone was fighting.

The sound of swords and shields clashing is agonizing.

"What is a massage?"

What?

"Ah, a massage is a relaxation technique."

This is my chance. . .

"Where are you going?"

I almost managed to run away.

"I was going to relieve my bladder."

I'm standing with my back to the ogre.

"I see. Show me what this massage is. If I like it, maybe I'll let you go home. But if it's bad, you already know the consequences."

I swallowed the last bit of saliva left in my mouth. It's been a long time since I drank water.

"Show me your hand."

What a horrible hand. It's wrinkled, rough, and stinks.

I think I'm going to throw up. . .

I just have to endure this.

While I dealt with my own situation, I took the chance to watch my friends' fights.

What the hell is that?

"Hey, Donkey, do you think this is going to work?"

Dorian is using a longsword and a shield.

"You just have to point the sword forward."

Dorian did what Donkey told him while standing in a battle stance.

"Yes, now you've got it right. Hold on tight. I'll charge forward, and you'll drive the sword into the ogres."

They have way too much confidence.

"So, this is what a massage is?"

The ogre let go of my hand.

"That's right. Can I leave now?"

I managed to get rid of this brute.

"No. You still need to give me a massage here."

What a sweaty stench. . .

"I am not putting my hands on that black, rotting foot."

The ogre doesn't even have toenails anymore. There's moss between his toes.

"I think you forgot who's in charge here."

"Yes, sir. I'll do it right away."

Bastard. Just because he has a weapon, he thinks he can threaten everyone.

"Hold tight, Dorian! The ogres are coming!"

Donkey ran toward the ogres, but. . .

"Slow down, Donkey, I'm goi—"

POFT!

"Hey, Dorian, why aren't you killing the ogres?"

"Dorian?"

Dorian was on the ground.

"Ow, my elbow!"

"Ha ha ha, Dorian, I told you to hold on tight."

Dorian couldn't handle the weight of the shield.

"Dorian, you said you were a knight. Where's your strength?"

"Ow, Donkey, why did you do that?"

Donkey bit Dorian's leg.

"When I get stressed, strange things come over me."

Donkey started rubbing his rear against the ground.

The ogres around him stopped to watch!

"Hey, girl, are you going to the city of Asterium?"

Why does he want to know that?

"Maybe I am. Why do you ask?"

Only the right foot was left. My hands already smelled like ogre feces because I shook Lyra's hand, and now they were black.

"Be careful, because that city. . ."

Is this ogre being friendly?

"Dorian, help me! I can't stop."

"That Donkey looks like the ones we saw in the city."

The ogres grabbed Donkey. Why hasn't Dorian gotten up yet?

"It's your turn."

"I want circles."

Are they playing tic-tac-toe?

"Are you ready, Donkey? If your friend loses at tic-tac-toe, we're taking you."

Whose absurd idea was this?

"But if you win, we'll let you go."

The ogre started sniffing Donkey.

"Dorian, don't you dare lose. My life is on the line. . ."

Donkey neighed.

"If I lose, will I be free from you?"

Dorian looked at me. I could see the evil desire in his soul.

"Donkey, do you remember when Lyra brought that fish and you ate almost all of it?"

Is Dorian talking about that rotten fish?

"I'm a growing Donkey. I need most of it. But why are you asking me that?"

"Oops, I marked the wrong spot by accident."

What I just saw Dorian do left me stunned.

"Idiot, you did that on purpose, just because I ate all the fish."

Donkey started kicking, but the ogres had already pinned him down.

I need to watch out for Dorian, or I'll be next.

What a spiteful face.

Where are Lyra and Seraphine?
