Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 — Zenca Forest — Part 3: Everyone Has Someone

". . . I'm Ly. . . Ra. Leave it for later."

The moment Lyra face-planted, the ogre switched targets.

"You've got courage, little girl."

The ogre lifted Lyra by the leg.

"SHLUNK."

I drove an arrow into the ogre's back.

"Ow."

While the ogre twisted in pain, I took the chance and grabbed Lyra.

"Ka. . . Ela, did you see what I did?"

I nodded. I left Lyra near Seraphine.

How can someone sleep in a situation like this?

"Heh heh."

Strange girl. But thanks to Seraphine, I could use that arrow.

"You bastards—don't think this will end like this."

"AAAAAHHH!"

The ogre roared with all his strength, creating a violent shockwave of energy. The energy scattered out of control, destroying everything around us.

The sky changed color, turning red. The clouds spun like a cyclone.

The ogre punched the ground. There was silence, and then—

"Dorian and Donkey, help me carry them."

Too late. . .

"Soãmri maçerapa."

We heard the ogre speak in an unknown language.

Several portals appeared, and creatures different from orcs came out.

"Ha, ha, ha."

Donkey started laughing.

They're goblins with clothes and surfboards—what the hell is this?

"Are these idiots thinking they're going to surf on the ground?"

"Ha ha ha."

Dorian and Donkey were almost peeing themselves laughing.

"Who are you?"

The ogre asked the goblins.

"We're the ones asking that. Who are you?"

What a bunch of clowns.

"We were surfing and, all of a sudden, a portal appeared right in front of us."

The goblins seem less aggressive than the ogre.

"Ow, my head—Kaela, what's happening?"

Lyra, no. . .

"Hello, demons. What cool gear you've got."

I think I should do the same as Seraphine.

"Wake me up when all this is over."

Don't panic, Kaela.

"Those boards are cool. How do I get one?"

Donkey grabbed a goblin's board and climbed on top of it.

"This is really cool."

"Crack."

Donkey got off the board and gave it back.

The goblin's eyes went wide.

"When I get my salary, I'll buy you another board."

Donkey said, all proud.

"Ha ha, you don't even work, Donkey."

Dorian laughed.

"Dorian, are you calling me a bum?"

Donkey is about to punch Dorian in the face.

"Not me. But you said that before."

Even the orc sat down to watch the weird scene.

"Hey, boys—forget these two idiots and answer me this."

Lyra, so much energy. . .

Ah, I'm going to sleep.

"Did you come because of the pact?"

What pact?

"Kaeellaaaaaaaa!"

Seraphine screamed.

"Kaela, I was dreaming there were surfer goblins and Donkey broke a board."

When Seraphine spotted the goblins, she froze.

"Yes. We came because of the pact."

Why does everyone answer her like that makes sense?

"I knew it."

Lyra started celebrating.

"We came because of the pact of the interdimensional surf championship."

Lyra put her hands on her head.

"Nooooo."

The goblins got startled by the scream.

"You didn't come to kill me under the Demon King's orders…"

Lyra walked up to the ogre and sat beside him.

The ogre, confused, rested his huge hand on her head and gave gentle pats, like calming a child.

"It'll pass. . . it'll pass. . ."

Lyra went quiet, sucking her thumb and staring into nothing.

"You came to kill me under the Demon King's orders, didn't you?"

She murmured.

The ogre tilted his head, thoughtful.

"That's right. . . I forgot."

The ogre shoved Lyra.

"Goblins, you will serve me."

The goblins tried to run back to the portal, but it had closed.

"Demonic control."

The ogre tried to cast it, but. . .

"Ha ha ha. Is this what you're looking for?"

What is that in Lyra's hands?

"Girl, give it back or you'll be the first to have your head cut off."

The ogre grabbed his sword and dragged it along the ground. A huge cloud of dust rose, and then he put the sword's tip against Lyra's face.

"How beautiful."

What is Lyra saying—beautiful, her?

Ha ha ha.

The ogre stayed silent.

Lyra grabbed the ogre's sword and the two were about to fight.

"If you want it back, then just leave."

Lyra showed the object.

But the dust ruined my vision.

"Dorian, what is that?"

Donkey whispered.

"I can't see. Can you see, Seraphine?"

Seraphine's eyes shone like emeralds, frozen in place.

When the dust cleared. . .

"Do you want it back, yes or no?"

Now that I see it—it's an ogre woman's diary.

"You don't have the guts to do that."

The ogre let go of the sword.

"Try your luck."

Lyra was about to tear it. . .

"I give up. You win. Just give me the diary back."

Nice, Lyra. I always trusted you. . .

"Let me see that diary."

Lyra covered her mouth in shock.

"To my ogre love, I. . ."

"Love? Let me see, Lyra."

Donkey got curious.

"No. Don't touch the diary. It's a relic that hides demon secrets."

Lyra dodged away.

"Hey, you're going to tear—"

The ogre started sweating.

"Crack."

"Fine. Take it back."

"Grrrrr."

"All of you will die."

Bunch of incompetents. Why did you rip it. . .
