Eliana's POV
I stood where I was and watched as Blood stormed out of the room. The door slammed shut behind him so hard that the walls seemed to shake with it.
For a second, silence followed.
Then I smiled just a little.
"Karma finally caught up with you," I muttered under my breath.
That man had spent so long hurting others, controlling lives like they were toys in his hands. Watching rage consume him now was almost satisfying.
My eyes shifted back to the monitor in front of me.
Mateo was still on the floor. He dragged himself forward slowly, one hand gripping the ground while the other pressed against the wound in his side. His movements were weak, desperate, pathetic. A dark stain followed behind him.
I felt nothing.
He can die for all I care.
My only concern was the girls and Diane. As long as the girls were safe... as long as Diane was brought back into my hands, nothing else mattered.
