It was 1 week after the Royal Platoon of Canterlot searched the old castle. Kurat was in the Library, reading books after True Sage threatened- I mean… told, yeah told, Kurat that if he does not master an Elemental Line by today, his skills will be locked. We see Kurat struggling to keep his eyes open as he was awoken at around midnight to start his studies.
(A/N: Elemental Line = A Mastery of a specific Element or a Master of an Element…)
Kurat groans, "Saaaageeee!!! Can I please get 5 minutes of rest?" Kurat pleaded.
[No. Last time you asked, you fell asleep for 3 hours. Finish your work]
"But Sage! I have Shrine, Limitless, freaking Six Eyes! Why do I need to actually learn magic? Levitation and invisibility is enough!" Kurat tried to reason with True Sage, but he was not budging.
[True, but the learning is not just for you, it is for me as well. Plus: IF you master every Element, you might gain another Skill~]
Kurat rolled his eyes and continued to read the book, it was based on basic Fire Magic. He sighed as he knew that today was going to be hell…
…..
Kurat is seen outside, training his newly learned Fire Magic. Because of his control of Fuga, he was able to learn Fire Control very easily. We see him throwing fire balls at a wooden dummy.
"FIRE BALL!" The dummy bursted into flames. He threw another, and another, and he paused for a second.
"Hey Sage? If Fuga is capable of even burning fire, doesn't that mean that learning Fire Magic is useless?" Kurat finally thought about it. Divine Flame: Fuga could be considered a pinnacle of Fire Magic, and him learning the basics of fire magic could be considered a waste of his time. Unfortunately, True Sage did not give a f**k.
[It is not useless. Divine Flame: Fuga is not just fire, it is the concept of burning. It is a technique made to burn anything, even fire itself. But the technique is not considered a fire based attack, but how it works and its concept is almost the same as fire control. That is why you can control fire magic with ease]
[Also because I want to store the data and find new ways to use it. Either way, even if you think it's useless, you will still learn it for my sake]
Kurat heard True Sage's response, and sighed, hard. He continued to train his fire magic, getting a better control of it every time he uses it.
....
*ROAR!!*
Kurat got up from his resting position from his study table. "The hell was that?!" Kurat asked with concern.
[It is a Hydra, a Three Headed Hydra to be exact]
"What?? A Hydra! Is it coming here?" Kura was nervous, can he even take down a hydra? He worried about running from his home.
[With your current abilities, killing a Hydra is light work]
"Ok, but let me ask: to kill one, I would need to cut all of its heads… AT THE SAME TIME!!"
[Yes, that is true, but what if it burned constantly?]
Kurat gave a look that said, "the hell you mean?"
[*sighs*]
[You have fire magic and Fuga. With Shrine, Cleave is used to chop off its heads one by one, using either Fire magic or Fuga to burn when its head is chopped, so that it can't regenerate. And since it can't regenerate, it can't grow new heads. Alternatively, using a powered Divine Flame: Fuga will do the job. Of course, the choice it yous]
Kurat asked with confusion, "what choice? Kill the damn lizard and get to bed! Easy plan~"
[Either you choose the slow path and build combat experience, or you use the fast path and end it quickly. And because I will make you kill the Hydra, I will temporarily lock all your Unique Skills except Shrine. Hehe~]
"WHAT!!! YOU DUMB SKILL!!" He started to shout and insult True Sage, locking his skills except Shrine. Limitless is locked, Six Eyes is fused with True Sage, and Adaptability is used only in dire situations. Safe to say, he needed to go hunt a Hydra to get his skills back.
*sighs!*
Kurat quickly turned into a Pegasus and flew out of the castle. He continued his flying trip, following the sounds of roars from the Hydra, getting closer every time.
*Louder ROAR!*
Kurat's head snapped to his right, he saw the Giant Hydra, currently destroying everything in its path. Kurat saw its trail from behind and saw where it was heading…
"Ponyville" Kurat immediately dove right in, getting no assistance from any of his skills except Shrine and his newly learned Fire Magic.
He dove right to the Hydra's forehead and jumped onto its head. The Hydra saw this and tried to shake Kurat off.
Kurat couldn't hold on and he flew off, sending a wave of Dismantles and Cleaves to the Hydra.
A head was chopped off.
Kurat saw his opportunity and…
"SHIT! I NEED MY HORN OR FINGERS TO-"
[You do not need those. Just use your magic like how you normally use them as a human, but with hooves]
After hearing True Sages answer, Kurat sighed in relief. He focused a large amount of Magicules onto his hooves, a small fire ball was produced, and it kept getting larger.
After the fire ball was as large as his head, he threw it at the Hydras cut of neck, burning it. "One Down, Two to Go."
Kurat repeated his strategy with the second head, but the Hydra learned fast and spits out a large amount of water at Kurat. Drenching him.
"What the hell? Since when can Hydras spit water?" Kurat questioned for a second but saw something in the distance… Ponyville.
The Hydra roared loudly, seeing its destination. Kurat knew he had to stop it fast. He decided to throw a concentrated Divine Flame: Fuga at the Hydra, burning off its second head.
He focused, "Divine Flame: Fuga!"
He threw the Fuga and it immediately burned the whole second head of the Hydra, making it shriek in pain. Kurat covered his ears from the sound, and as he was dazed for a second, the last head was seen coming in for a bite.
Kurat was still fazed when he saw the head coming, he instinctively moved out of the way, dodging by a millimetre. Kurat saw this and sent a Cleave to cut the Hydras head off, he then sent a Fuga along with a few Fire based attacks towards the Hydra, burning its whole body in the process.
Kurat was seen smiling, a smile of a psychopath who got his first kill. He flew down, just barely near enough to see the burning corpse of the Hydra. He saw the fire spread slowly onto the trees. Kurat started to panic.
"Oh shit…. SAGE!!! I KILLED THE BEAST SLOWLY LIKE YOU SAID!!! HELP ME!!!! OR THE FOREST IS DONE FOR!!!" Kurat started to shout for True Sage's help.
[The EverFree Forest works a lot more differently than other forests. Watch]
Kurat was confused by Sage's answer until he saw it. The fire that was supposed to spread to the trees just vanished, like it was never there.
"Wow, this forest is more magical than I thought. But what now? This burning corpse is still dangerous for the local ecosystem." Kurat began to think of ways to dispose of the burning Hydra corpse.
[First, before we deal with the corpse, all your skills that I have locked before your battle are now unlocked. You can change back into a human. Second, you can use Blue to create a small vacuum, and since its function is similar to a black hole, it should absorb both the corpse and the fire]
(A/N: In this story, Blue works like a black hole, while Red works like a white hole. If you know what I mean, you get a cookie!)
"I see, I see, then let's start the clean up!" Kurat flew down and casted a large Lapse Blue, throwing it at the burning corpse. Kurat watched as the Blue was slowly eating up the burning corpse of the hydra. In size, it was large, but for blue? It was a light snack.
"Wait, doesn't Blue and Red have a limit? So how is this Blue just eating up the whole Hydra?" Kurat asked, he made a large Lapse Blue, sure, but for it to gobble up an entire Hydra was a feat on its own.
[Answer: Unlike regular Lapse Blue, your Lapse blue is like I said, a similar concept to a black hole. Sure it had a limit, but even a small Lapse Blue from you has double the capacity of a regular Lapse Blue from Satoru Gojo. And a large one, like the one you threw, has the potential to eat up a whole town]
[If I were you, I would focus on the situation at hand and remove the Lapse Blue before it starts to eat the forest]
Kurat quickly looked back and saw the Blue finishing its job, and slowly eating away at the EverFree Forest.
He panicked and quickly focused, stopping the Blue before it could continue. He sighed in relief and flew away from the area, not wanting to deal with whatever lived in the forest and would be angry at Kurat for destroying its home.
….
He arrived at the castle, slamming into the castle's outer walls because he was speeding up every second and did not look where he was going. He slammed into the ground like a cartoon character, and although not feeling any pain, the embarrassment was there.
"HEY! DELETE THAT NOW"
Kurat's face showed a slight hint of red, hinting of the embarrassment that might come soon
He quickly shook his head and turned into his human form, heading into the castle and was getting ready to look for any paper to recreate his Manga when…
[Just because you fought a Hydra, does not mean you can skip on your lessons. You were sloppy when you fought, diving head first at the Hydra, showing panic here and there, and before that, turning into a Pegasus to go fight a Hydra, idiotic move there]
Kurat groaned in annoyance and slumped back into the Library, picking up another book about magic and started to read, sitting on the floor as he was not bothered to sit at his desk.
*sighs*
"Fighting a Giant Hydra that could have threatened Ponyville, killing it, and I got roasted and insulted by Sage as a reward." Kurat Muttered.
[You also get to keep your skill]
Kurat rolled his eyes from True Sage's response. He continued to read his book while showing signs of annoyance and frustration.
…..
At Canterlot->
We see Princess Celestia sitting in her throne, receiving a report from one of her messengers.
"The Hydra was killed Princess, before the Royal Guard could arrive." The messenger said.
"I see. Did you manage to locate the body?" Celestia asked.
"No your majesty. All we found were traces of burned land, and a path of destruction, likely caused by the Hydra. Some of the guards have said that, "a battle has taken place here.""
Celestia thought for a moment, 'a Hydra that was enroute to Ponyville quickly vanished before my guard could arrive. Could it be?' Celestia realised that the mysterious entity that lived in the Old Castle of the Two Sisters could have been the one who defeated and possibly killed the Hydra.
Celestia chuckled to herself for a bit before relaying a message. "Thank you for the message. I may have gotten an idea on how the Hydra vanished. You may leave." The Messenger bowed before leaving the throne room.
Celestia sighed before turning her head to look outside the window.
'Such raw power, to be able to defeat a Hydra alone… even I would struggle if I did not go all out. I wonder-' Celestia looked at her tea cup and small piece of cake. Before levitating the tea cup and taking a sip, 'is this a show of friendship? Or a show of power?' Celestia thought to herself. An entity that wielded that much could potentially be an asset to protecting Equestria, or a great foe that might be difficult to defeat.
