The green glow of The Seal of Orichalcos began to contract—slowly, relentlessly—until it was no larger than the space containing only Weevil and Rex.
"No! Don't take our souls!" Weevil screamed.
Rex thrashed and clawed at the barrier, his voice hoarse. "Stop it! I don't want to disappear!"
The ring tightened like a judgment being delivered.
A flash of light burst out.
When it faded, both Weevil and Rex lay collapsed on the floor, their bodies limp, their eyes vacant—like puppets whose strings had been cut.
In Doma's Temple
Deep within a dark sanctuary, Dartz watched a stone tablet embedded in the wall. Two new images filled empty slots—Weevil and Rex, frozen in helpless silence.
"So the two insects have failed," Dartz said evenly, almost bored. "As expected. They were only ever pawns."
His gaze sharpened.
"Still… their souls grew stronger from clashing with Duelists chosen by the Legendary Dragons. That extra 'density' will serve our god's resurrection."
He turned his head slightly.
"Rafael. Valon."
Both men bowed immediately.
"Yes, Lord Dartz."
"Go to Florida," Dartz ordered. "You must obtain the remaining four souls. And Rafael—"
His voice dropped, heavy with contempt.
"—you have already failed me once."
Rafael's jaw tightened. "Understood. This time… I won't fail."
On the Plane
Back in the passenger cabin, Weevil and Rex had been secured. The aircraft continued under autopilot, its engines humming like a calm lie over a building storm.
Aoi's expression was sober.
"Once we reach Florida, Doma will attack again. No question."
Kaiba snorted. "Let them come. One by one, we'll crush them."
Beep—beep—beep.
Kaiba's phone rang.
"It's Mokuba." He answered without hesitation. "What is it?"
Mokuba's voice came out strained and panicked.
"Brother—this is bad! KaibaCorp has been completely bought out by Doma!"
The cabin froze.
"What?!" Joey blurted.
Kaiba didn't explode. He went still first—like steel cooling in water—then spoke with sharp control.
"I understand. Mokuba, go home. Don't move around. The rest… leave it to me and Aoi."
"O-Okay!"
The call ended.
Joey stared. "KaibaCorp… taken over? How the hell—?"
Aoi's brows knit. "It's impossible under normal market conditions. Kaiba, Mokuba, and I hold too much to be blindsided."
Kaiba's eyes narrowed into a cold line.
"There's only one explanation: they're manipulating the entire world market."
"The world market…?" Anzu whispered, unsettled.
Kaiba let out a low breath. "I underestimated their reach."
Aoi watched the edge in his gaze—an emotion he'd never admit. She placed her hand over his on the armrest, grounding him.
Kaiba didn't pull away.
"…I'm glad you're here," he said quietly, almost too low to catch.
Aoi's voice softened, but her eyes stayed hard. "We'll take it back."
Yami Yugi leaned forward. "Then we can't waste time. Florida, the museum—Doma's already reached for it."
Kaiba's mouth curled. "They won't beat me to what matters."
His phone buzzed again—this time an internal line.
"President Kaiba," an employee's voice said. "We've transferred all available undersea ruin image data to your terminal."
Kaiba opened his laptop immediately, receiving the files with a single click.
"There," he said. "We have the images. Now Hopkins can decode them."
Hopkins adjusted his glasses, scanning the screen. "The inscription is heavily weathered. We'll need strong computational restoration—high-end hardware."
Kaiba's answer was instant. "Then we use KaibaCorp's U.S. branch."
Aoi's gaze sharpened. "Kaiba… it may already be compromised."
"It's still the fastest place to process this volume," Kaiba said. "If we hesitate, we lose everything."
Yami Yugi nodded. "He's right. Industrial Illusions was hit. Now KaibaCorp. Doma controls the monsters worldwide. Delay is death."
Arrival: Florida Dock
The plane landed near the docks. Vehicles were waiting.
Kaiba stepped down first, eyes already set on the next battlefield.
Aoi followed—then Anzu called from behind.
"Yugi—be careful!"
Kaiba and Yami Yugi started forward together—then Aoi moved after them.
"I'm coming too."
Kaiba stopped so abruptly the others almost bumped him.
"No," he said flatly. "This could turn into a trap. I'm not letting you walk into it."
Aoi's eyes flared. "And you think I can just sit behind you and 'be fine' while you risk everything?"
Kaiba's jaw clenched.
Aoi's body gave off a faint white radiance—subtle, but unmistakable. The presence of the White Dragon stirred behind her like a silent promise.
"Don't call me fragile," she said, voice low and sharp. "Not after everything."
Kaiba stared at her for a long beat—then clicked his tongue.
"…Fine. But you don't leave my sight."
Aoi nodded once. "Deal."
Behind them, Joey muttered to Honda, "That… sounded kinda like a confession."
Anzu's fist cracked into Joey's head.
"Stop gossiping and move!"
KaibaCorp U.S. Branch: The Hidden Route
The trio entered through KaibaCorp's emergency access—an underground corridor leading to a private elevator.
"This route bypasses the front," Kaiba said, swiping his ID. "Less chance of surveillance."
The doors slid shut.
Then—
THUD.
The elevator jolted violently and stopped dead.
Kaiba's eyes snapped upward. "Something's on top."
Metal screamed. The ceiling was torn open.
A monster dropped into the cabin.
Kaiba moved instantly, ducking and pivoting. The creature slammed into the wall instead, cracking concrete.
"That isn't a hologram," Kaiba hissed. "It has mass."
He smashed the control panel with his fist. Sparks flew.
The doors pried open only a fraction—Kaiba and Yami Yugi forced them wider with brute strength.
Beyond the gap waited a nightmare:
Countless monsters.
Yami Yugi's voice tightened. "Kaiba—Aoi—we'll have to summon!"
Kaiba's eyes flicked across the swarm. "They aren't using my system. Our normal projections might not register."
Aoi stepped forward, unwavering.
"Then we fight anyway," she said. "Trust your monsters—trust yourself."
As if answering her, a figure burst past them—
Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle—Aoi's monster—carving into the front line with a flash of silver steel.
Kaiba stared for half a second.
"Aoi—!"
"Less talking," she shot back. "Break through the center!"
Kaiba's mouth curled into a grin—small, fierce.
"Fine."
He summoned Bloody Maju Beast.
Yami Yugi brought out Mystic Swordsman.
Aoi's silver-bladed queen tore open a path.
Three Duelists—three fronts—one direction.
They ran.
Monsters fell.
But then—
A sealed door blocked their escape route.
Kaiba swiped his ID.
Nothing.
"The access codes have been rewritten," Kaiba said, voice darkening. "We're locked in."
Behind them, the surviving monsters surged again—closing the distance.
Yami Yugi's eyes narrowed. "No route…?"
Aoi steadied her breathing. "Then we make one."
Before she could move—
Click.
The door opened from the other side.
A voice rang out, bright and urgent.
"I'm here! Hurry!"
Yami Yugi blinked. "Rebecca?!"
The trio rushed through. The door slammed shut behind them, cutting off the monsters like a guillotine.
Aoi exhaled once, controlled.
"Good timing."
Rebecca—panting, but proud—lifted her chin.
"I helped… at least a little, right? President Kaiba?"
Kaiba didn't waste time on gratitude.
He only said, "You did."
