Kisaragi and Kaiba stand on separate glass panels high above the building interior. Kisaragi glances down and—unlike the anime—feels her legs go weak.
Kaiba notices immediately.
He stomps hard on the glass on purpose, making a loud, heavy bang that pulls everyone's attention.
"Pretty solid. As long as our LP doesn't hit zero, it won't break—right, Kisaragi?"
That blunt confidence snaps her fear cleanly in half. She smiles back.
"Yeah. Then our glass is destined not to break."
In her mind, she silently thanks him and opens her Duel Disk.
Across from them, the Masks open theirs together:
"Stop spouting nonsense. Both of your glass panels will shatter!"
2) Duel start and turn order
All four shout "Duel!"

It's a classic "I'm going to punish your first push" posture.
4) Kisaragi establishes her Dragonmaid engine
Kisaragi – Turn 2
Activates Continuous Spell Elemental Spring (heals 500 whenever a monster returns to its owner's hand).
Normal Summons Dragonmaid – Parlor in attack position (500 ATK / 1700 DEF). Kaiba clocks it as "new Dragonmaid."
Parlor effect:
Sends Dragonmaid – Tempest from deck to GY.
Then Kisaragi does something that makes the whole rooftop feel unfair:
Banishes Parlor (on field) + Tempest (in GY) to Special Summon from Extra Deck in defense:
Dragonmaid – Chamber/Attendant (the text calls it "贴身龙女") 2000/3000.
Yami is surprised: she got to a fusion monster without playing Polymerization. Kaiba is half impressed, half annoyed: "So you held back last time."
Kisaragi dismisses it: last time was just testing. If Kaiba wants a real fight, they'll settle it in the finals.

5) Kisaragi fuses on the opponent's turn—pressure spike

At the start of his turn, Kisaragi interrupts:

During either player's standby phase, returns on-field/banished materials to the deck to Fusion Summon.
She shuffles back:

Banished Tempest
And Fusion Summons:
Dragonmaid Sheou ("耀光龙女") — 3500/2000.
Mask of Light is visibly shaken: fusion on the opponent's turn is tempo violence.
Now Mask of Darkness plays his side:
Normal Summons Shining Abyss ("光辉深渊") 1600/1800.
Equips Mask of Brutality ("凶暴化之假面") → +1000 ATK:
Shining Abyss becomes 2600/1800.
Kisaragi points out the maintenance cost: normally Mask equips drain LP. Mask of Darkness smirks and reveals the workaround:
Activates Continuous Spell Mask Doll ("假面人偶") so he doesn't pay the upkeep LP for Mask cards.
Sets 1 card, ends (hand: 2).
Strategically: he's building a "sticky attacker" that doesn't bleed him out, implying a longer attrition plan—exactly what you want when your opponents are standing on bomb glass.
6) Kaiba responds with Ultimate Dragon setup scaffolding
Kaiba – Turn 4
He plays extremely "Kaiba": minimal emotion, maximum infrastructure.
Normal Summons Keeper of Dragon Magic ("龙魔导守护者").
On summon, discards Blue-Eyes White Dragon to search Polymerization.
Then Keeper's second effect:
Reveals Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon from Extra Deck.
Specials from GY a listed fusion material face-down defense:
Special Summons Blue-Eyes White Dragon face-down.
Sets 2 cards, ends (hand: 3).
This is Kaiba saying: "You can show off. I'm building the guillotine."
7) Yami's read: neither side looks cornered
Yami watches and feels something off:
Both teams sprinted into high-impact board states immediately—Kisaragi with a fusion boss on the opponent's standby, Kaiba with Polymerization access plus a face-down Blue-Eyes ready to flip or be used as material.
Yet neither Kisaragi nor Kaiba shows the slightest "we might die" panic.
So Yami suspects the real battle isn't visible on the field yet:
Face-down threats (Kisaragi set 2, Kaiba set 2, Mask of Light set 2, Mask of Darkness set 1)
Plus tag duel sequencing (who gets targeted, who gets forced into the "no-glass substitution" trap)
Plus LP management (Mask side has already shown they're willing to cheat costs to keep pressure without losing LP—critical when LP = footing)
That's why this chapter's title lands: everyone is probing, measuring reactions, and counting hidden blades—because one misstep equals a bomb.
