Deadpool violently slapped the side of the broadcast monitor, sending a shower of sparks over the announcer's desk.
"Technical difficulties averted, folks! Somebody tripped over the main power cord, but the broadcast is back online!" Deadpool shouted into the microphone, shaking a charred cable. "Let's rewind that tape and give these two green-haired powerhouses the proper introduction they deserve! We are in Ring 9, and the 'Pure Hearted Powerhouse' quota is being filled to the brim! It's the Jajanken versus the Detroit Smash!"
Ring 9 was a massive, dense jungle stadium. Towering ancient trees, winding rivers, and steep cliffs provided plenty of verticality, perfect for two fighters who treat gravity as a mere suggestion.
Heimdall was hovering safely inside a reinforced glass sphere above the canopy. "Match Number Twenty-Three! The Rookie Hunter from Whale Island, Gon Freecss! Versus the successor of One For All, Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku!"
The Green Analysis
Deku stood on a thick tree branch, his green lightning crackling around him as he muttered rapidly to himself. "His stance is wide, center of gravity low. He doesn't look like he has a Quirk, but the energy radiating from him feels incredibly dense. I need to keep my distance and use Blackwhip to control his mobility."
Across the clearing, Gon casually stretched his arms, a bright, innocent smile on his face. He wasn't thinking about tactics; he was purely operating on instinct. "You look really strong!" Gon called out, his golden aura of Nen flaring to life. "I'm not going to hold back!"
The Jajanken meets One For All
Gon vanished. He didn't use a teleportation technique; his raw physical speed simply broke the sound barrier. He appeared directly in front of Deku, pulling his fist back.
"First comes rock..." Gon chanted, an overwhelming mass of orange aura condensing around his knuckles.
Deku reacted with honed reflexes. One For All: Full Cowling - 45%! He dodged the initial strike, launching himself backward. Where Gon's fist struck the empty air, the sheer shockwave uprooted three massive jungle trees, sending them crashing into the river below.
"He missed, but the air pressure alone is devastating!" Deku analyzed, activating Blackwhip. Dark energy tendrils shot from his arms, grabbing the falling trees and hurling them back at Gon as projectiles.
Gon didn't flinch. "Scissors!" He formed his aura into a massive, invisible blade extending from his fingers, slicing the incoming trees perfectly in half without breaking his stride.
The Smash
Up in the booth, Deadpool was wearing a green cheerleading outfit over his suit, shaking two pom-poms. "It's instinct versus intellect! Gon is swinging with the force of a meteor, but Deku is playing 4D chess in his head!"
Deku realized a ranged battle wouldn't work against Gon's relentless forward momentum. He had to meet power with power. Deku planted his feet, channeling the stockpiled energy of previous generations, combining it with Fa Jin to build explosive kinetic energy.
Gon landed on the same platform, planting his feet firmly into the dirt. "Show me everything you've got!"
"Detroit..." Deku roared, his arm glowing with searing, blinding energy.
"...ROCK!" Gon screamed, thrusting his aura-heavy fist forward.
"...SMASH!" Deku yelled, swinging his fist to meet Gon's.
The collision of One For All and Jajanken created a dome of green and gold light that vaporized the surrounding jungle instantly. The shockwave shattered Heimdall's glass sphere and sent Deadpool flying backward into the broadcast booth wall.
As the dust and steam cleared, the crater was absolutely massive. Gon was on the ground, unconscious, his aura completely depleted from putting absolutely everything into that single strike. Deku was still standing, though his right arm was heavily bruised and hanging limply at his side. He was breathing heavily, his hero suit torn to shreds.
"Match Twenty-Three winner... IZUKU MIDORIYA!" Heimdall announced, coughing up a mouthful of jungle dirt.
Up in the booth, Deadpool peeled himself off the wall, giving a thumbs-up to the camera. "The Hero student takes it by a hair! That is 23 winners down, 28 matches to go in Round One! Someone get the school nurse, because Deku is going to need a lot of ice packs!"
