As everyone knows, the people of Natlan have many unique methods of transportation.
For example, a certain former Pyro Archon charges into battle on a motorcycle, while members of the Collective of Plenty are known for their explosive bursts of acceleration.
When players approach the Sacred Flame Arena, they may collide with Natlan locals rushing along the path, taking the corresponding Elemental damage. If struck by multiple locals in succession, it can even trigger Elemental Reactions.
The closer they get to the Holy Night of the Return of Fire, the higher the chance of colliding with Natlan residents.
This was a special surprise prepared by Caelus for the players. He deliberately placed the collision segment near the end, giving them a sudden shock just as they believed victory was within reach.
The Emotion Points generated by the players proved that Caelus's design was indeed effective.
Incidentally, it was not only playable characters who could collide with the players. Even ordinary Natlan NPCs would suddenly appear and knock them down.
After all, the Holy Night of the Return of Fire is not exclusive to playable characters. Bumping into other competitors on the road to victory is perfectly reasonable.
[Damn it, I was almost at the finish line and suddenly a few people rushed out and killed my character!]
[Is that person on the motorcycle Mauvika? Her damage is insanely high.]
[Doesn't Natlan have traffic laws about yielding to pedestrians?]
[Mauvika: I thought they were speed bumps.]
[We are all living with all our might~]
Many players, like Ying Ying Yue, realized that fighting the Natlan warriors head-on was not the optimal strategy. Running and cleaning up weakened enemies was far more efficient.
However, while sprinting toward the Sacred Flame Arena, they frequently collided with passing locals and accidentally got their characters knocked out.
Some players would first have Zhongli activate his Jade Shield, then use Kuki Shinobu's Elemental Skill, before proceeding toward the Sacred Flame Arena with greater peace of mind.
As for players who did not own those characters, they could only stay alert, carefully watching which direction someone might rush in from, then dodging in an S-shaped path to safely reach the Sacred Flame Arena.
"Oh my god!"
In the world of Genshin Impact.
As the Traveler arrived at the arena, the commentator for the Holy Night of the Return of Fire exclaimed loudly, "The Traveler from a foreign land is undoubtedly the biggest dark horse of this competition! Participating for the first time and bringing only a floating companion, yet successfully advancing from the team stage. This is truly astonishing!"
Natlan is a land filled with hidden talents, where everyone fights with all their strength for honor. Even experienced teams are not guaranteed to advance.
Yet as an outsider unfamiliar with the Holy Night of the Return of Fire, the Traveler managed to advance on her first attempt, leaving the Natlan audience genuinely shocked.
However, one person was clearly displeased.
"Who are you calling a floating companion?" Paimon stomped angrily in midair.
"Paimon, don't be upset." Lumine gently patted her companion's head. "I've never thought of you as just a floating companion."
"Of course." Paimon narrowed her eyes and smiled. "After all, we're the best partn—"
"I've always thought of you as Emergency Food."
Before Paimon could finish, Lumine calmly revealed her true thoughts.
"Paimon is not Emergency Food!" Paimon grew even angrier upon hearing that.
"I'm so mad! When we eat later, I'm going to eat twice as much. No, three times as much as usual!" she huffed.
"Are you trying to bankrupt me?" Lumine felt a little helpless.
She had only just arrived in Natlan and did not know the prices yet, but they were certainly not cheap compared to other nations.
If Paimon really ate that much, Lumine would have to take on more commissions at the Adventurers' Guild.
"I will eat you broke." Seeing Lumine's expression, Paimon smiled in satisfaction.
Before long.
Mualani and the others also advanced from the team stage.
"Traveler, you were really fast."
The girl from the People of the Springs blinked her bright red eyes in surprise. "I thought that with Auntie Atea helping us, our team would definitely be the fastest. I didn't expect you to be even quicker."
Lumine placed her hands on her hips proudly, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
[Next time I'll still choose Very Easy. Bruised face.jpg]
[You choosing Easy Mode for the Holy Night of the Return of Fire.jpg]
[The developers are unbelievable. Just because there's an Easy Mode safety net, they think they can raise the difficulty of other modes without limit? I died so many times before giving up and switching to Easy Mode, only to find it plays like a children's game. It's infuriating.]
[Normal Mode is fine too. I used Venti to group them up and wipe them out. However many come, I eliminate them.]
[Same. Natlan enemies constantly apply elements to themselves, so once Venti groups them, they die from Swirl reactions.]
[Venti: Dinner time.]
[Actually you can just rely on Kachina. Natlan warriors often have Pyro applied to themselves. Kachina can trigger Crystalize and detonate the shards. Just hold her Skill and everything explodes.]
After clearing the Holy Night of the Return of Fire on Normal Mode, players began sharing their strategies.
They soon discovered that as long as they used Kachina, clearing this mode became significantly easier.
[So what was I doing spending all that time brute-forcing with The Knave, Clorinde, Navia, and dozens of other characters?]
[Guess you enjoy suffering.]
Sacred Flame Arena.
Paimon excitedly told Mualani and the others about her earlier banter with the Traveler.
"Kachina, Mualani, let's all go eat together after the match. The Traveler is treating."
Paimon smiled brightly. "The Traveler is very rich, so don't hold back."
"Hey." Lumine shot Paimon a dissatisfied look. "Whose side are you on?"
"Hehe, it's more fun when more people eat together," Paimon replied cheerfully.
"Paimon is right. It's livelier and happier when everyone eats together," Mualani nodded before adding, "However, Paimon, your plan to make the Traveler pay might not succeed."
"Why?" Paimon tilted her head.
"Because Mauvika will reimburse us." Mualani pointed nearby. "Look, that lady over there."
Following her gesture, Lumine and Paimon saw a red-haired woman maintaining a massive greatsword.
"It's the first person who reached the arena!"
Before Lumine and the others arrived, they had witnessed someone riding a motorcycle cross the finish line ahead of everyone else.
Long red hair, wielding a greatsword, possessing a Pyro Vision, and clearly wealthy.
Isn't this just a gender-swapped version of Diluc?
Lumine and Paimon exchanged a glance, silently confirming they had reached the same conclusion.
Rich lady, please adopt me.
