Chapter 32 - Ch 32- Separated by Life and Death

Through Tlazplli's account, Xilonen finally learned the truth of what had happened.

"Aunt, you actually…"

Xilonen wanted to reprimand her, but the words caught in her throat.

If she were the one who had lost her daughter, could she truly guarantee she would not have done the same?

"Lord Pyro Archon, please pass divine judgment upon me."

Tlazplli lowered her head.

"If I cannot resurrect Nechca, then my life no longer has meaning. Death would be my best choice."

Perhaps she had long wished to seek death in order to reunite with her daughter.

It was only because she believed there was a way to forcibly resurrect Nechca through memory transference that she had endured until now.

But now that her plan had been exposed and discovered by the Pyro Archon, it was impossible to continue.

In that case, being executed on the spot by the Pyro Archon might even allow her to see Nechca in the afterlife.

"What if I told you I could let you see Nechca?" Caelus asked calmly.

"?!"

Tlazplli suddenly looked up, eyes wide.

"Lord Pyro Archon, do you mean you approve of my plan?"

"That is naturally impossible," Caelus replied, folding his arms. "However, I can manifest the concept of Nechca from the Night Kingdom into reality."

In simple terms, Caelus could use a method similar to retrieving someone from the Night Kingdom, allowing Tlazplli to see her daughter again.

"This…"

Tlazplli trembled.

"Is that truly possible?"

"Who do you think brings the fallen heroes back from the Night Kingdom after the Night Warden War ends?" Caelus asked in return.

That person was, naturally, the Pyro Archon of Natlan.

Of course, an ordinary Pyro Archon could not accomplish such a feat. Only Caelus, with the Popularity System, could do so.

"Lord Pyro Archon!"

Still kneeling, Tlazplli grabbed Caelus's hand tightly.

"As long as I can see Nechca, I am willing to do anything."

"Please, I beg you, bring Nechca here."

Since Tlazplli had said so herself, it would be inappropriate not to assign her some responsibility.

"From now on, you will serve as Xilonen's assistant and share her workload," Caelus said. "When Xilonen works, you work. When Xilonen rests, you continue working. Can you accept that?"

Standing nearby, Xilonen's lips twitched slightly.

Was she slacking off? She was simply resting to maintain efficiency.

But at this moment, she could not correct him. According to Natlan's laws, Tlazplli's actions were unquestionably a serious crime.

Allowing her to serve as an assistant was already an act of mercy from the Pyro Archon.

"I am willing. I am willing."

Tlazplli nodded rapidly, afraid that any hesitation might cause him to change his mind.

"Very well. I will bring your daughter here now."

Caelus gently withdrew his hand, then reached into the empty air before him. His fingers curled as if grasping something unseen.

In the next instant, a faint blue, translucent little girl appeared before them. She was about the same height as before, with her hair tied into a ponytail behind her head.

Seeing the real Nechca, Caelus instinctively thought of Tokai Teio from Uma Musume. At a glance, the resemblance was striking.

"Nechca!"

Tlazplli rushed forward and embraced her daughter.

"Mom…"

Nechca gently patted her mother's back, a faint smile appearing on her face.

Caelus had little patience for emotional reunions. After informing Tlazplli that Nechca would return to the Night Kingdom in ten minutes, he led Xilonen and Tlazplli's adopted daughter outside.

"Little one, what is your name?" Caelus asked the girl who had nearly been used as a vessel.

"I… I think my name is Nepecha," the girl answered hesitantly.

Hearing this, Xilonen frowned.

"Aunt Tlazplli claimed her daughter lost her memories in an Abyssal attack. In reality, her daughter lost her life during that incident."

"So you are the one who truly lost your memories?"

Nepecha nodded.

"I cannot remember anything except my name."

Nepecha's parents had both fallen in battle against Abyssal Monsters. Combined with the fact that she had been confined by Tlazplli for so long, it would be difficult for anyone in the tribe to confirm her identity.

Fortunately, Xilonen had a potion capable of eliminating the effects of Abyssal corruption.

She had originally prepared it for Nechca, but Nepecha was the one who had genuinely lost her memories.

After drinking the potion, Nepecha suddenly remembered everything.

"The Lord Pyro Archon's potion truly works."

Although Xilonen had mentally prepared herself, witnessing Nepecha's restored memories still filled her with shock.

If even lost memories could be restored, then other damage caused by Abyssal corruption could also be healed.

Those veteran warriors who had been injured and forced into retirement could once again take up their weapons and fight for Natlan.

[Emotion Points from Xilonen +50]

[Emotion Points from Tlazplli +50]

Caelus was not surprised by the emotion points from Xilonen, but the points from Tlazplli caught his attention.

For the same emotional response, someone who possessed a Vision generated far more emotion points than an ordinary person.

Conversely, if an ordinary person provided the same number of emotion points, their emotions had to be far more intense.

"Is it because she saw her long deceased daughter?" Caelus muttered thoughtfully.

He had spent nearly 10 emotion points to bring Nechca into the living world, yet he received 50 emotion points in return.

If he helped others in the same way, would he not continue earning emotion points?

Natlan, which had suffered greatly from Abyssal Monsters, had many people like Tlazplli who had lost family members and comrades.

And then there was Mavuika, the former Pyro Archon from 500 years ago.

In official records and portrayals of Mavuika, it was almost impossible to separate her story from that of her sister.

Even in her final battle, the figure she saw was her sister, though it was merely an image formed from memories.

It was clear how deeply she cared for her sister. If he allowed her to see her again, she alone might provide thousands of emotion points.

"The people of Natlan are truly fortunate."

They would be able to see their departed loved ones. Caelus would gain emotion points. Natlan's overall strength would increase as well.

It was a complete win for everyone involved.
