The scene begins on the night of February 25. Mikey is sitting at his desk in his room. Beside him are a cup of instant noodles and a book. On his PC, the CCTV footage from outside his house is playing. Mikey is talking to his uncle over the phone.
Mikey says, "What do you mean, old man? You couldn't retrieve any information?"
His uncle replies, "Look, I wanted to, but the phone Angel was carrying is nothing but a decoy. It only had Max's number on it—and nothing else."
Mikey says, "I even took a selfie with her phone just to make sure you had hacked it!"
His uncle replies, "Unfortunately, there was simply nothing on that phone."
Mikey says, "I should've done it myself. Looks like you're getting way too old now."
His uncle says, "Looks like there are guests outside your house."
Mikey is already watching the CCTV and replies, "Yeah, I can see them as well."
His uncle says, "Looks like they're here to provide you some service. What are you going to do now?"
Mikey says nothing and smiles.
His uncle continues, "Don't do anything extreme, I told you. I can't afford to expose you this early."
Mikey interrupts, "Uncle, I'll get back to you later..."
Mikey ends the call, stands up from his chair, and says, "Looks like I've got work to do..."
He then says, "I wonder if the medicine worked on her or not."
Smiling, Mikey adds, "There's no way she'll be able to resist."
The scene shifts to Angel's house later that same night, around midnight. Clothes are scattered across the floor, and the entire house is dark. None of the lights are on, and the packed food is still sitting in her kitchen.
The scene moves into the bedroom. Angel's lingerie lies on the floor beside the bed, while Angel is naked on the bed, masturbating.
In her mind, Angel thinks, What is happening to me? Yet she cannot resist herself.
Mikey's words and his smile keep replaying in her mind.
The following day, Angel is unable to go to work.
The scene shifts to Friday, March 3, 2023.
Children are playing in a park. During a cricket game, one child hits the ball too far. Another child runs to retrieve it, only to find it resting near Max's feet.
Max is sitting in the park. The child becomes slightly intimidated upon seeing him.
Max says, "Can I play with you, kid?"
He picks up the ball and tosses it back to the child.
Watching the children play, Max says, "I wish I could play with them."
A man approaches him from behind and says, "You're too old for this shit. Now tell me, why did you summon me here?"
Max turns around and says, "Let's talk business, old man."
The old man removes his cap, smiles, and says, "Looks like you're finally thinking straight."
Max replies, "I was always thinking straight, but I never became cold. Now the situation has reached the point where staying on the sidelines won't work anymore."
The old man says, "All the trades and dealings are going fine, and demand has been low lately, so there's no need for you. You must've had a reason for calling me here."
Max says, "I'm not exactly worried... but I'm telling you to prepare for something uncertain; it feels like I shouldn't have met him."
The old man replies, "I told you not to get involved. Now you'll have to face the consequences."
The old man looks at him, but Max remains silent.
The old man continues, "Stop worrying about him. I've already dealt with him."
Max asks, "How?"
The old man replies, "I used your girl's help to finish him, and for now, I've put him aside."
Max says, "That's good, but that's not what I'm worried about."
The old man asks, "Then what's the problem?"
Max replies, "Why did Mikey start killing again?"
The old man asks, "How many people did he kill?"
Max replies, "Only one so far."
The old man says, "Think about it for a second. How could Mikey have killed anyone? On the day the victim's body was found, Mikey was with Angel at the library and the café."
Max says, "Maybe he killed him the day before."
The old man replies, "That doesn't make sense. The officials told me the victim was killed only five hours before the body was discovered, and the body had been freshly burned."
Max asks, "Do you think he's affiliated with us?"
The old man replies, "I contacted every branch, every leader, and even the goons. Everything is normal. The victim wasn't affiliated with us."
Max thinks, Then why did he kill him?
The old man says, "I think someone framed the Mascot for this."
Max says while sitting down, "If the higher-ups identify the victim, let me know."
The old man replies, "Don't worry. There's no way the Mascot would carry out a killing."
Just as the old man finishes speaking, a gunshot suddenly echoes through the park.
Both of them are startled.
Max says, "That came from nearby."
The old man replies, "There's no time. We have to run."
Chaos erupts throughout the park as people begin running in every direction.
Max tells the old man to leave, while he himself runs toward the source of the gunshot.
Calling him a fool, the old man runs away.
The scene continues with Max. As he runs, he thinks, There's one question on my mind.
He is running against the flow of people fleeing the area.
Eventually, his eyes fall upon a dead body.
Then his attention shifts to the murderer, who is standing perfectly still.
Max says, "The hell is this?"
The murderer stares directly at Max from a distance.
Then, without warning, he shoots himself.
The eye contact between Max and the murderer feels deeply unsettling.
Max is not shocked by the reaction. Instead, he immediately turns around and starts running.
In his mind, he thinks, That thing wasn't human whatsoever.
Suddenly, Max receives a phone call.
He answers it, but the moment he puts the phone to his ear, he freezes.
His childhood lullaby begins playing through the phone.
Max stands there in shock.
In his mind, he says, Now what is this...?
The very same lullaby is playing from Mikey's phone, now in Angel's hands.
Lying in front of her, on the street outside, is Mikey in a lifeless condition.
