Chapter 33: Eternal Flamescion

Aiden awakening a Magic the moment he received the Falna was already a one-in-a-million talent.

Now, only a few days had passed, and he hadn't even reached Level 2, yet he had unexpectedly awakened a second one.

Tifa and Robin were filled with curiosity, ignoring their shyness as they leaned in to look at Aiden's back.

Unfortunately, they couldn't read the Hieroglyphs flowing across his skin.

Furina hurriedly took out a blank sheet of parchment and carefully pressed it against Aiden's back, transcribing the divine text into Common.

The three of them huddled together. The first thing that caught their eyes was Aiden's terrifying stats.

[Name]: Aiden [Level]: Lv.1 [Basic Abilities]:

• Strength: H-136 → F-371 (+235)

• Endurance: H-133 → F-345 (+212)

• Dexterity: H-143 → F-381 (+238)

• Agility: H-144 → E-406 (+262)

• Magic: H-150 → D-506 (+356)

And below the Basic Abilities, in the Magic slot that represented miracles, a brand-new name appeared alongside the initial [Ripples of the Past].

[Magic] [Eternal Flamescion]

• Type: Fire Attribute Enchantment Magic · Super Short Chant

• Effect: Discharges Magic Power converted into flames that wrap around the body, increasing all Basic Abilities. Allows manipulation of flames for combat. Additionally, flames can be highly compressed and attached to a weapon, granting it ultra-high-temperature cutting capabilities. A weapon in this state theoretically possesses the potential to cut through anything, but ordinary weapons cannot withstand such extreme heat and will shatter due to overload after combat concludes.

• Chant (Verse 1): [With this wheel of flame, I drive]

• Chant (Verse 2): [With this blade of light, I hold]

The atmosphere in the room fell into a brief stagnation due to the parchment.

On Aiden's Status board, the line "Magic: D-506" was particularly conspicuous.

An ability value breaking through the D-rank meant that as long as he accumulated enough Excelia—that is, high-grade experience—he could choose to Level Up at any time.

For many adventurers struggling on the line of life and death, this was a moment they dreamed of.

But for any adventurer with a bit of ambition, they would absolutely not level up hastily when only one stat had just touched the threshold of D-rank.

That would be tantamount to destroying one's future and wasting one's potential.

Aiden was naturally no exception.

His goal was to develop his potential to the absolute limit. He would only consider stepping into the threshold of Lv.2 when the growth of his stats became incredibly slow, bordering on stagnation.

As for the newly awakened enchantment magic [Eternal Flamescion], it was completely beyond his expectations.

He never thought that deep within his soul, besides carrying the obsession with Alfia, there lay such dormant, blazing potential.

The power of Enchantment Magic was unquestionable.

One only had to look at Ais Wallenstein, the "Sword Princess" of the Loki Familia who stood at the pinnacle, to understand. Relying solely on a Wind Attribute Enchantment Magic, she was already powerful enough to command the awe of countless adventurers.

This Fire Attribute Enchantment Magic of his might become a powerful trump card.

However, just as Aiden was contemplating this, a voice filled with extreme dissatisfaction broke the silence of the room.

"What is thiiis?!"

Furina jumped down from Aiden's back, hands on her hips, puffing out her cheeks angrily. Her beautiful heterochromatic eyes were full of "grievance" and "protest."

"I, Focalors, am the Goddess presiding over Water and Justice! Yet my head retainer, my Captain, awakened a Fire Attribute Magic as his second spell? Where am I supposed to put my face? Water and Fire... this is basically betrayal!"

She grew more agitated as she spoke, as if she had suffered a monumental insult. Dramatically, she pressed the back of her hand to her forehead, striking a pose as if she might faint at any moment.

Aiden watched with helplessness, while Robin and Tifa couldn't help but chuckle.

They knew, of course, that Furina wasn't truly angry; she was mostly making a scene for the sake of drama.

"Alright, alright."

Aiden sat up from the bed. As he put on his clothes, he soothed her with a gentle tone.

"It's just magic; it doesn't represent anything. My heart will always be with you, the great Goddess of Justice."

"Sweet talker."

Furina huffed, but the expression on her face softened considerably.

Her eyes darted around, and she immediately seized the opportunity.

"Unless... you agree to a few conditions to compensate for the massive trauma caused to my soul."

In the end, after signing a series of unequal treaties—such as "doubling the supply of sweets for the next week," "must accompany me shopping tomorrow with no mention of the Dungeon allowed," and "must buy me pretty clothes immediately next time"—Furina finally, with great magnanimity, declared that she could temporarily ignore that eyesore of a Fire Magic.

—————

And so, early the next morning.

Because of those unequal treaties, Aiden rarely obtained a day off to accompany his high-spirited Goddess on a trip out to play.

Continuous days of high-intensity Dungeon exploration had indeed kept his nerves taut, so this was a good opportunity to rest for a day.

Come to think of it, he had been here for a while but hadn't really properly toured the labyrinth city of Orario.

When it came to familiarity with the local environment, Furina was far superior to him.

The sun was bright, and the streets were bustling with people and vitality.

Adventurers walked in groups of threes and fives toward Babel. The shouts of vendors rose and fell, and the air was mixed with the aroma of various foods and the crisp sound of clashing metal.

Furina held Aiden's hand, exceptionally active.

One moment she was pointing at a beautiful dress in a clothing store window, and the next she was attracted by the sweet scent wafting from a snack stall, chattering non-stop.

Just as they were passing through a relatively quiet street in the Seventh District, two figures walked toward them.

It was a green-haired Elf holding a large pile of fresh vegetables and fruits, and walking beside her, a beautiful girl with short gray hair and gray eyes.

Seeing the green-haired Elf, Furina's eyes lit up instantly, and she practically dragged Aiden over with quick steps.

"What a coincidence! Ryu, are you out shopping?"

Furina seemed very familiar—though not entirely. She was on quite good terms with this quiet Elf waitress.

"Goddess Focalors."

The green-haired Elf addressed as Ryu stopped and bowed slightly. Her demeanor was elegant and proper.

Furina also waved to the gray-haired girl on the other side, greeting her with a smile. "Syr, good morning!"

Syr smiled and returned the greeting.

Ryu nodded and replied, "Yes, we are purchasing some fresh supplies for the pub."

Then, with a proud face, Furina pulled Aiden, who was beside her, to the front and introduced him to the two. "This is the Captain of my Familia, Aiden. He's very strong, you know."
