Chapter 34 - Final Clash pt2

While the giants fought above, the real struggle for survival was on the ground.

"Maintain the Ring!" I yelled, my voice hoarse over the sound of exploding spells.

The eighty-six Mid-level mages stood in a tight circular formation, their mana pools being drained at an alarming rate. Their job was the most relentless: keeping the thousands of Warrior and Servant-level monsters from swarming the Super-level mages. If even a handful of these pests interrupted a Star Palace formation, the Kings would fall.

"Don't look at the Wolf! Focus on your sectors!" I commanded as a pack of Warrior-level Shadow Wolves tried to slip through a gap in the fire wall.

I snapped my fingers, my Fire Star Path igniting. "Fire Flare: Exploding Burning!" The burst of heat sent the lead wolf tumbling back, while the Mid-level mages behind me followed up with a coordinated barrage of Ice Spikes.

High above, the forty-two High-level mages were locked in a desperate dance with the Commander-level pack leaders. These elite demons were trying to reach the Super-level mages, but the High-level mages intercepted them mid-air, clashing in a rain of blood and shattered elements.

The valley was a meat grinder. We were holding, but the weight of the Monarch's presence was a physical pressure that made every breath feel like inhaling glass.

....

The sky didn't just darken; it groaned under the weight of three massive Super Level Star Palaces. Each palace, constructed of 2,401 stars, flickered into existence with a geometric perfection that made the air hum. This was the pinnacle of human magic—the power to rewrite the laws of the world.

The Tundra Bone-crusher Wolf sensed the shift and lunged, its 100-meter frame a mountain of ivory bone. But the three leaders were ready.

Li Shen stood at the apex of the formation, his eyes glowing with a cold, silver light. His Ice Star Palace locked into place.

"Ice: Frozen Coffin – Hell's Descent!"

This wasn't the Intermediate version. From the clouds, a singular, colossal coffin made of absolute-zero ice—easily fifty meters long—slammed down with the weight of a glacier. It struck the Wolf's back, the Heavenly Seed frost instantly spreading through the bone armor, freezing the marrow within.

To reposition, Li Shen used Space: Blink, his form vanishing and reappearing a hundred meters away to avoid the Wolf's retaliatory frost-breath.

Li Wei ignited like a second sun. His Fire Star Palace burned with a crimson, holy light.

"Fire: Gates of Hell – Fire Burial!"

The ground beneath the Wolf's massive paws turned into a literal lake of lava. Immense pillars of fire erupted in a circular formation, trapping the 100-meter beast in a localized furnace. Before the beast could leap out, Li Wei completed his second Star Palace:

"Lightning: Silent Judgment!"

A singular, massive bolt of violet lightning, condensed into a spear of pure destruction, descended from the heavens. It struck the Wolf's skull without a sound, the high-voltage current of the Heavenly Seed bypassing the bone armor to fry the beast's brain-matter.

Li Jun controlled the battlefield's physics.

"Wind: Devouring Tornado!"

A massive, horizontal hurricane manifested, acting as a grinding shield that shredded any frost-shards the Wolf tried to exhale. He supplemented this with Space: Gravity Collapse, slamming the 100-meter beast toward the earth. When the Wolf tried to snap its jaws at the floating mages, Li Jun flickered his fingers for Chaos: Reverse Order, causing the beast's bite to miss by kilometers as the dimensions warped.

....,.....

Fifty meters away, the Abyssal Steel-Back Gorilla roared, its metallic fur clinking like a thousand swords. It was met by the specialized strike team.

Li Han hammered the ground with Earth: Mountain Peak, forcing the bedrock to rise in jagged, titanic pillars that boxed the 50-meter gorilla in. Li Zhu hammered the beast's primitive spirit with Mind: Control, inducing a state of primal panic. Lin Yao bombarded the beast with Light: Judgment Spear, the solid shafts of holy light piercing the gaps in its metallic fur.

Hovering on the flanks, Zhao Feng used Space: Rhythm to deflect the Gorilla's shockwaves. Mu Bing blanketed the beast in Poison: Scorpion's Sting, a liquid toxin that corroded the Gorilla's joints, while Xiao Yan unleashed Lightning: Tyrant's Strike, sending web-like arcs of electricity across the beast's metal back to paralyze its heart.

....

Down on the valley floor, the eighty-six Mid-level mages were fighting a war of pure attrition. Thousands of Warrior and Servant-level monsters—frost-wolves and skeletal rats—were throwing themselves at the perimeter.

"Maintain the Fiery Fist rotation!" I commanded, my voice hoarse. "Team 1, front line! Team 2, support!"

"Fire Flare: Exploding Burning!"

I snapped my fingers, sending a concentrated burst of heat into a pack of charging rats. My Fire Star Path was glowing nearly white from constant use. I quickly pivoted, my mana shifting to my second element.

"Ice Spread: Bone Chill!"

I slammed my palm toward a breach in the line, freezing the paws of a dozen Shadow Wolves to the ground.

Beside me, Mid-level mages were shouting their incantations in unison.

"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heaven!"

"Ice Lock: Bone-Crushing Chains!"

The forty-two High-level mages were scattered in the air above us, locked in combat with Commander-level pack leaders. These elite demons were trying to dive-bomb the Super-level mages to break their Star Palaces. The High-level mages intercepted them with Sky-Lighting: Quaking Fist and Advanced Water: Wave of Silence, turning the sky into a rain of demon blood and elemental residue.

The physical toll was massive. I looked at the system notification still lingering in my mind, the 10 Sub-monarch Soul Essences pulsing. We were one hundred and twenty-eight souls standing against a rising empire. The Tundra Bone-crusher Wolf let out a howl that vibrated in our very bones—not a cry of pain, but a beacon. From the West, the emerald fog thickened.

"Focus on your Star Maps!" Li Shen's voice boomed from the heavens. "The real fight starts now!"

The emerald fog rolling from the West was no longer a weather phenomenon; it was the physical manifestation of the Monarch's reaching hand. The air grew so thick with magical pressure that several Mid-level mages in the center of the formation collapsed to their knees, their noses bleeding from the sheer weight of the atmosphere.

"Don't lose your focus!" I roared, my voice barely audible over the screeching of the demon tide. "If the perimeter fails now, the Super-level mages will be interrupted mid-cast! Stand! Fire Flare: Exploding Burning!"

I snapped my fingers, sending a white-hot spark into a cluster of approaching Skeletal Rats. The explosion was a mere flicker compared to the tectonic shifts happening above us, but it kept the gap closed. Beside me, the eighty-six Mid-level mages were chanting in a desperate, ragged unison.

"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heaven!"

"Ice Lock: Bone-Crushing Chains!"

The valley floor was a carpet of charred meat and frozen limbs. Above us, the forty-two High-level mages were a blur of silver and gold light, their Sky-Lighting: Quaking Fists and Advanced Water: Wave of Silence keeping the Commander-level winged beasts from dive-bombing the leaders. But even they were reaching their limits. Mana exhaustion was setting in.
