Since Adelyn had taken responsibility for training Nigel, she didn't intend to back down.
Not even when the bill for their cart exceeded her set budget.
"Are you sure you are going to pay that much?" Nigel asked, eyeing the display. "I still have some savings left for the month remaining. If you want, we can split it."
Adelyn's eyes sparkled when she heard him say that.
Anything that helped her save money was enough to impress her.
And right now, Nigel couldn't look more impressive.
However, just as she was about to accept his suggestion, she was reminded of the promise she had made to him earlier.
The delight in her gaze dimmed —but then the determination shone in her eyes.
Patting his shoulders, she said reassuringly. "Don't worry. Your Grandma has enough to support your dreams."
Nigel raised a brow at her as she turned to hand her card to the cashier at the counter.
