Soraka, one of the veteran champions of League of Legends, is also the game's most quintessential healer. Though the game's meta has shifted continuously, Soraka's core identity has always been to heal her allies. Even through major kit reworks, her defining characteristic of restoring health has never changed.
However, compared to her gentle in-game persona, the lore-accurate Soraka is absolutely not just a simple healer. Not only does she present herself as a prophet, but she also secretly guides the historical progression of the entire world of Runeterra. In this process, even those considered the "trendsetters" of their respective eras might not realize they walked their paths because Soraka quietly pushed them. Take Syndra, for example—in fact, even now, neither Syndra nor Karma knew that Kalan's feigned defection to Noxus was due to Soraka's guidance.
Entering Faen's line of sight, Soraka's state, aura, and appearance were completely different from her in-game splash art.
Sensing Faen's arrival, Soraka turned toward the cave entrance. Upon clearly seeing his figure, or perhaps sensing his aura, a subtle gleam of joy appeared in her eyes. She then turned and proactively walked toward him.
Although she was walking inside a cave, with the starlight cascading around her, she gave off the impression of slowly descending from the depths of the celestial vault. It even seemed as if stardust fell silently with every step she took.
Soraka, the Starchild. Though it was their first meeting, Faen could feel the concrete manifestation of elegance, mystery, and ancient power radiating from her.
She stood there, her violet skin as warm and smooth as jade. One could tell it wasn't mortal flesh and blood, but rather as if she had draped the tranquil night sky over herself. Having descended from a pure spiritual entity of the Immortal Celestial Realm, even though she had taken on so-called "flesh and blood," the blood flowing through her veins contained the wisdom of the stars.
Her waist-length hair wasn't made of traditional strands; it looked more like cascading waterfalls of solid starlight. Within its deep, silvery-white base, countless specks of stardust flickered and glowed, like a miniature galaxy.
Her face was a blend of inhuman antiquity and compassionate gentleness. The single horn on her forehead looked like condensed moonlight, shining with a pearlescent luster and radiating a soft, mysterious halo. Her brilliant golden eyes refracted golden iridescence; meeting her gaze felt like looking at the revolving cosmos.
Her graceful body was adorned in a flowing, ethereal gown. Its material seemed woven from moonlight and starlight. Her slender figure appeared as delicate as a willow in the wind, yet it contained massive energy from the stars. The hem of her dress fluttered without wind, the ripples spreading out like a river of stars. Light, graceful veils draped over her, and ancient star-patterns adorned her smooth arms. Though she hadn't spoken yet, simply by meeting her eyes, Faen could clearly understand why Soraka was willing to step down from her divinity for the mortals of Runeterra. She endured the agonizing pain of her Celestial energy burning her mortal form just to walk among mortals, solely to guide humanity onto their predetermined path of ascension.
Because she was, inherently, the gentlest aspect of the stars.
"Hello, one who is out of place in this world."
Seeing Faen, Soraka's eyes carried a mix of anticipation and curiosity as she said, "I sensed your presence long ago. An anomaly outside of destiny, one who has never appeared in either the past or the future."
"An anomaly outside of destiny?" Hearing Soraka's words, Faen raised an eyebrow with interest and said, "Do you mean you realized my uniqueness long ago, but just couldn't lock onto or find me?"
"Yes." Soraka didn't deny Faen's words. She nodded gently, then reached out a finger and tapped the empty air in front of her. With a surge of Celestial energy, the space—previously just surrounded by greenery and flowers—filled with specks of starlight. An intricate night sky seemingly blanketed the area in an instant. Standing within it, Faen couldn't even determine the boundaries of the cave anymore, because in the vision of the Material Realm, the place had transformed into an absolute sea of stars.
"The First Celestials, empowered by the Creator Dragon, possessed the ability to weave the stars," Soraka said quietly. "Through this sublime power, the early Celestial ancestors became even more exalted beings. They forged a path to a Great Destiny for the land that birthed them, making this world the most unique and special pearl among the endless stars."
"And within this woven Great Destiny, each era is meant to birth its own 'Child of the Era.' Blessed by the world itself, and by deciphering the wisdom inscribed among the stars, they would gradually take up the grand mission of guiding the world's progress."
As she spoke, Soraka fell into a brief silence before continuing, "But we underestimated the life on this land."
"Before that perfectly woven Great Destiny, the life on this land proved wild, capricious, and dangerously strayed from all designs. Even the guidance and destinies woven into the night sky were frequently ignored. And those Children of Destiny, meant to guide the eras, were often completely misunderstood by mortal minds under the worst circumstances, thereby creating even more chaos, uncertainty, and suffering."
"So, what does this have to do with me?" Faen tilted his head, asking with a face full of confusion.
"The Celestial ancestors anticipated this, so they prepared different contingency plans for different eras." Sensing Faen's confusion, Soraka explained, "Among these contingency plans, some were designated saviors, while others were vessels prepared long in advance by the Celestial gods. And another portion—the most unique—was the will of the world itself, the uncontrollable, unpredictable future of Runeterra."
"And within that, there exists a specific category: individuals who are not part of the Great Destiny. They drift outside of destiny, unobserved by the world itself, yet possess the ability to influence both the world and its destiny."
As she spoke, Soraka gazed intently at Faen. Although her peaceful eyes didn't show much emotion, through the brilliant golden iridescence shining like a galaxy, Faen could tell that Soraka was talking about him.
Thinking this, Faen pondered for a moment before saying, "If that's the case... how do you and your kin view people like us?"
