Chapter 35 - season -2 Chapter 25 – “When He Came Running”

The seventeenth arrived again.

But this time, Meher wasn't waiting at the old bus stop. She was at her Mumbai apartment, sipping coffee, scrolling through her manuscript, thinking about deadlines, rain, and everything in between.

Her phone buzzed suddenly.

Aarav: "Open your door."

Confused, she glanced outside. Nothing. Then a cab pulled up in front of her building. And there he was — Aarav, drenched in rain, smiling nervously, carrying a small umbrella and a bouquet of her favorite flowers.

The city seemed to stop around her.

"You…" she whispered, heart racing.

"I came running," he said simply. "Because I realized I don't want to wait for the seventeenth, or for months of messages and missed calls. I want to be here. Now."

Meher's chest tightened. Rain began to pour outside, gentle but insistent.

"You didn't have to…" she started.

"I did," he interrupted, taking her hand. "Distance, rain, misunderstandings… I've learned something. Every seventeenth matters. But every ordinary day matters even more. I don't want to waste another day not being with you."

Tears welled in her eyes, mixing with the raindrops on her window.

"Even with Mumbai?" she asked, voice trembling.

"Especially with Mumbai," he said. "Because now it's not about where we are. It's about being together wherever we are."

Meher laughed through tears. A laugh that was relief, happiness, and love all in one.

She took his hand, pulling him inside.

No words were needed. Just the sound of rain outside, two hearts reconnecting, and the feeling of finally choosing each other without hesitation.

That day, the seventeenth wasn't just another date.

It became a promise.

A promise that distance, storms, and time could never break what was real.

And for the first time in months, Meher looked at Aarav and whispered:

"Let's not wait for rain again."

He smiled.

"Not if I can help it."

And outside, the rain fell softly, almost like a blessing.
