Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Making Friends with Ding Yumian and Entering the Three-Step Pagoda

A few days later, Wang Feng was practicing in the dormitory when he suddenly heard the doorbell ring.

"RingRingRing~"

He finished his training, stood up, and opened the door, only to be greeted by a familiar petite figure.

"Huh? It's you, Senior Sister!" Wang Feng greeted with a smile.

The person who came was none other than Ding Yumian, the psychic victim he had met by chance a few days ago.

Ding Yumian looked at him in confusion and asked, "How do you know I'm your senior?"

Wang Feng smiled casually. "It's very simple. I've beaten almost all the freshmen in school, and I don't remember you. So I concluded you must be a senior!"

Hearing this, Ding Yumian slightly opened her mouth and muttered softly to herself, "He really is the Great Devil…"

Then she pulled out a bracelet from her pocket and handed it to him.

"This is from Dean Xiao. He also asked me to tell you that you can enter the Three-Step Pagoda to practice in two days."

Wang Feng accepted the bracelet and scanned it with his mental power.

Inside the space magic tool, he found not only five rare resources needed for the healing system but also a nebula magic weapon glowing with blue fluorescence.

Is this for me to use inside the Three-Step Pagoda? Dean Xiao is quite thoughtful, Wang Feng thought.

"I've delivered the items. I'll take my leave," Ding Yumian said, turning around to leave.

"Senior, didn't Dean Xiao tell you anything else?" Wang Feng suddenly asked.

At that, Ding Yumian paused and frowned slightly, as if weighing something.

As expected, Wang Feng thought.

He had long felt it strange. Ding Yumian was just a student, so why would she be delivering resources unless Dean Xiao had other instructions for her?

"Senior Sister, don't stand outside. Come in first. Otherwise, if people see you here, they might think I abandoned you!" Wang Feng teased.

Her cheeks flushed slightly. She nodded and followed him inside.

Wang Feng poured her a glass of water and asked with a smile, "Senior Sister, what did Dean Xiao really tell you? Why do you look so reluctant?"

Ding Yumian shook her head and whispered, "Nothing… Dean Xiao just asked me to get closer to you… and make friends."

As she spoke, her voice grew softer until she lowered her head in embarrassment.

Wang Feng was stunned. Making friends? Could it be that sly old fox Xiao Bingsen thinks I'm the same kind as Ding Yumian?

Suppressing his doubts, Wang Feng smiled warmly. "Making friends is good. I like being friends with people like you, Senior Sister."

Ding Yumian blushed deeper at his words. She glanced at him briefly before lowering her head again. "You… don't say that."

"Don't be so reserved," Wang Feng said lightly. "Since Dean Xiao asked us to interact more, we'll be friends from now on."

After a pause, he continued, "I won't hide it from you. I've mastered a secret healing technique passed down in my family.

It can soothe the body and mind while one sleeps. You don't look well today. Would you like me, your junior, to help you?"

"Huh?" Ding Yumian stared blankly, clearly surprised.

"Come on, it'll only take about ten minutes. Just a short nap." Wang Feng pointed at his bed.

Ding Yumian bit her lip, hesitated, but then nodded slightly. She removed her shoes, lay down slowly, and closed her beautiful eyes.

"Senior Sister, I wish you sweet dreams," Wang Feng said softly as he cast the healing magic [Healing Light] and spiritual magic [Calm].

Wrapped in warmth, Ding Yumian felt her deep soul-fatigue finally lift. She soon fell into a deep sleep.

Smiling faintly, Wang Feng began using [Dream Weaving] to create a dream full of peace and beauty for her, then followed with [Soul Combing] to smooth out her chaotic mental power.

Half an hour later, Ding Yumian's eyelids fluttered. She slowly opened her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling, looking dazed.

"Where… am I?"

Her memory returned in a rush, and she realized she was still in Wang Feng's dormitory. Flustered, she quickly sat up.

"Senior, how do you feel?" Wang Feng's gentle voice came from beside her, calm and soothing.

She turned her head and saw him sitting in a chair, holding a steaming cup of tea, watching her with warm concern.

"I… eh?" She began to answer but suddenly noticed something strange.

Her exhaustion was gone—her body was filled with energy. Even more shocking, her once-chaotic mental power was now calm and smooth, like the surface of a still lake.

Wang Feng smiled and offered her the cup. "Senior Sister, have some tea. It's freshly brewed—it'll help you relax."

She accepted it and sipped. The warm tea slid down her throat, spreading a soothing heat.

"Thank you. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time. Also… that dream—was it created by you?" she asked softly.

Wang Feng raised an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"

"Because… I haven't dreamed in such a long time," she whispered, then smiled sincerely. "Thank you for letting me dream again—and for letting me see familiar people in it."

Wang Feng chuckled. "If you ever want to relax, you can come to me. It's free of charge."

Her cheeks turned red again, and she nodded lightly.

She walked to the door, hand on the handle, but suddenly looked back.

"By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ding Yumian."

With that, she opened the door and disappeared outside.

Wang Feng stared at the closed door, a faint smile on his lips. "Interesting senior."

Turning back inside, he took out the Nebula Magic Weapon from Dean Xiao, sat cross-legged, and resumed cultivation.

Two days later.

Main campus, Three-Step Pagoda.

Before stepping into the tower, Wang Feng already felt powerful elemental energy washing over him.

The Three-Step Pagoda condensed the elements of heaven and earth, as well as the energy of the earth veins within thousands of kilometers, into its body, massively increasing cultivation speed inside.

Because of this, the elemental concentration around the tower was far higher than anywhere else.

Standing before it, Wang Feng felt the surging fluctuations and smiled with satisfaction.

"With this concentration, seven days should be enough for me to achieve breakthroughs in all my systems!"
