Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Buying a House and Spending Time with Xinxia

Inside the high-speed train carriage.

As Mo Fan watched Wang Feng and Ye Xinxia display their affection, an unprecedented sense of loneliness welled up in his heart.

If I had known, I would have taken the next train to the Demon Capital with my father and aunt, Mo Fan sighed to himself.

"Oh, by the way, Mo Fan, where did Little Monkey go? Have you heard from him recently?" Wang Feng suddenly turned his head, breaking Mo Fan's train of thought.

"Monkey? That guy has forgotten all about us brothers ever since he got a girlfriend. I heard he went to the Ancient Capital with He Yu," Mo Fan pouted, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness and envy.

His childhood playmates were all paired up now, and he was still a lonely single dog.

"Speaking of which, Mo Fan, why are you still single? Didn't Zhou Min always have a thing for you?" Wang Feng casually mentioned.

Mo Fan was stunned, a look of surprise flashing across his face. "Zhou Min? When did she ever like me?"

"Huh? Does Sister Zhou Min like Brother Mo Fan?" Ye Xinxia blinked curiously at Wang Feng.

"Yeah, I remember it was around the time you joined the City Hunter Squad. What, she didn't tell you?" Wang Feng smiled knowingly.

Mo Fan's mind instantly recalled Zhou Min's hesitant, flushed expression before he left Bo City. His mouth twitched slightly, and a complex emotion rose in his heart.

"Old Wang, you must have misunderstood. How could Zhou Min like me? Anyway, let's talk about what to do once we get to the Demon Capital.

We've already missed the university application deadline, so we need a plan, right?" Mo Fan quickly changed the subject.

"As for me, I'll go back to my old profession." Wang Feng gently squeezed Ye Xinxia's hand, a subtle glint flashing in his eyes.

His innate talent was replication within the Healing System, destined to mainly use the Healing Element while drawing power from others.

And a medical clinic was the perfect cover to both conceal his identity and utilize his gift.

Once school started, he planned to join the university's medical team. That way, he could legitimately and legally use Healing magic while "opening blind boxes" from other mages.

For example—Dongfang Lie's Fire System +1 talent.

For example—Ding Yumian's Mind Disaster talent.

For example…

Soon, the high-speed train arrived in the Demon Capital.

The three of them walked out of the station together.

Mo Fan was about to speak, but Wang Feng beat him to it.

"Mo Fan, you go on ahead. I'm taking Xinxia to look at houses and storefronts," Wang Feng said.

Hearing this, Mo Fan's heart immediately sank with a bad premonition.

He forced a smile and tentatively asked, "Old Wang, we grew up together. You're not really going to abandon me, right?"

Wang Feng just smiled without answering directly, his meaningful expression making Mo Fan feel even more uneasy.

Ye Xinxia lowered her head slightly, her eyes evasive, as if she didn't dare look at Mo Fan.

At that moment, Mo Fan completely understood—this young couple was leaving him behind to enjoy their two-person world!

Thinking about how he had just missed his chance with Zhou Min, coupled with this scene before him, Mo Fan felt his chest tighten with frustration.

Wang Feng held Ye Xinxia's hand as they walked out of the high-speed station together.

Ye Xinxia couldn't help but glance back at Mo Fan, still standing in place. Her heart tightened, and she softly asked:

"Brother Wang Feng, is it really okay for us to leave Brother Mo Fan like this?"

Wang Feng smiled, tightened his grip on her hand, and said gently with a teasing tone:

"Mo Fan is strong. Don't worry about him. Besides, aren't there free resettlement houses for Bo City residents here in the Demon Capital? He'll be fine."

Ye Xinxia pursed her lips, still hesitant. "But…"

"Do you want Mo Fan to always be a third wheel, disturbing our two-person world?" Wang Feng leaned closer, whispering into her ear.

Her face instantly turned crimson, like a ripe apple. She lowered her gaze, her fingers nervously twining together, her heart beating faster as if a deer was bouncing inside her chest.

The thought of living with Wang Feng filled her with both shyness and sweet anticipation.

As for Mo Fan, he was quickly forgotten.

Having done his research in advance, Wang Feng quickly found a storefront suitable for a medical clinic near Pearl Institute.

Right after, he secured a spacious apartment nearby that could house five or six people comfortably.

Ye Xinxia followed him into the apartment, curiosity shining in her eyes as she looked around.

"Brother Wang Feng, there are cheaper apartments nearby. Why did you insist on choosing this one?" she asked.

Wang Feng only smiled mysteriously and gestured for her to wait.

At that moment, the landlord came over, introducing enthusiastically:

"The biggest feature of this apartment is its floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide excellent natural light. The soundproofing is also great. And the bathtub is quite large—perfect for couples to relax and unwind together."

Ye Xinxia's face instantly turned red.

She secretly glanced at Wang Feng, only to find him watching her with a half-smile, his gaze carrying a hint of deeper meaning.

Her heart rippled with emotion, and she shyly lowered her head.

The next morning, Wang Feng took Ye Xinxia to the market to pick out daily necessities.

Later, he hired a professional renovation team to begin work on the medical clinic.

Once everything was arranged, Wang Feng turned his attention to Qingtian Hunter Agency.

As a transmigrator, he naturally remembered Old Bao's true identity—a retired Divine Official. The perfect stepping stone to establish his background of strength!

After greeting Ye Xinxia, Wang Feng took a taxi to the street where Qingtian Hunter Agency was located.

The car drove into an old street full of Republic-era charm: bluestone pavements, mottled walls, and retro signboards, as if time itself had stopped.

At the end of the street, a slightly worn wooden signboard swayed in the breeze, creaking softly.

The four large characters Qingtian Hunter Agency were faintly visible, exuding the aura of time's passage.

"Is it really this run-down?" Wang Feng muttered, but still walked forward.

He pushed open the heavy wooden door, and a small bell chimed crisply.

Inside was a unique old shop, blending classical Chinese charm with a hint of British style. A faint aroma of tea filled the air.

Behind the counter, a little loli with twin ponytails was biting her finger, frowning in thought.

Hearing the bell, she didn't even look up as she said coldly:

"Qingtian Hunter Agency. We don't take commissions under three hundred thousand."

Wang Feng smiled, walked to the counter, and said calmly, "I'm not here to post a commission—I'm here to apply for a job."

The little loli finally looked up, her gaze falling on him. She scanned him up and down, then snorted, lowering her head again.

"Too green. Qingtian Hunter Agency doesn't want you!"
