"It is better to slip away from hands that doesn't know how to hold you" they say.
Red Moon has always been like the wind. Stunning but invisible. Present but unattainable.
At times, I would feel like I already have him within my arm's length. I could talk to him. Argue with him. But the next moment was always followed by me regret ignoring the way he looks at me.
Just like how he is looking at me right now.
The gaze is not for me but for someone who resemble me in some way or the other. It is always this sadness mixed with hope that at least you got something similar.
This same gaze of him should have been my sign. Sign that this who-knows-how-many years old courtesan has been grieving someone for years.
This look... The same look I had for Lucien, that demon.
I tried to walk but my legs were frozen. My mind went blank. I didn't know what to do at times like these.
Red Moon was standing in my room. The same man that I spent nearly 8 years obsessing over.
His each breath, each word, each gaze lingers in my mind all the time.
Yet, even after all those years I still feel like a kid seeing his first love. Well, it is true that this beauty of a man is my first love.
I put my head down. I could do nothing else at that time. And when I looked back up, Red Moon has vanished just like he appeared and King Lucifer was lying there on the floor. A pool of blood surrounding his necks and head.
I sighed as I thought.
"For now, my hands are not capable enough to hold you. But it will be very soon and when that happens, I will make sure that you only think about me."
*RED MOON'S POV*
"Is this sealed with magic?" I asked myself.
My worn-out hands were shaking as I clutched longer onto the Chand scroll.
It had been five days... Five days of continuous failure to open the scroll. I remembered that I hadn't had any problems opening it when Isaiah was here. So, what happened now?
Maybe it is because the shock overwhelmed me? Maybe because I keep remembering those memories that should have been buried years ago?
'I should get some rest,' I thought.
I finally let go of the Chand scroll and kept it inside a drawer. There were red marks all over my hands. I also started to feel a pinch of pain whenever I touched something.
'Legacy of Chand'
It was the book that I was reading, or rather, staring at, so that I could avoid looking at Isaiah.
I picked up the book and started reading from the beginning again.
And when I finished, I knew...
That was the beginning of the next four years of trying to get Isaiah to sleep for at least three hours.
