Bruno stood on top of the dining table, gnashing his jagged teeth at the ledger before him.
Carla had moved back at full speed to avoid a collision with the animal, her eyes widening at the sudden action.
She darted her gaze to Sawyer and El-Romano, exchanging a questioning look, but their faces held no distinct expression.
The tiger picked the ledger with its paw, sniffing the book. Though still confused, Carla watched in awe as the animal acted.
It kept scanning the log until it was satisfied before stepping back and right into El-Romano's arms.
"It appears there is nothing off with the book. That is strange. I believed he would have tampered with the ledger some way." Sawyer said, coming to stand before the book himself as he flipped it to the very last page.
But his confusion lasted no longer than a second.
Carla did not see the danger coming when she heard a whoosh sound.
