"Gavin," She said faintly as she fought to stay awake. She wanted to say she was sorry about his loss. She knew something had happened to him and it was her fault.
There was no reasonable way to think he had survived that explosion as that would only be delusional.
Maverick stiffened for a bit and something flashed in his eyes hearing what she said as he stared deep at her when he saw the worry marred on her face before lifting her much firmly in his arm.
"Sleep." He told her, already knowing what she was about to say.
He knew there was a possibilty that Gavin didn't make it, considering the explosion that had just happened even though he had still sent some of his men in search for him.
However, that was completely not her fault. He looked to the two bodies on the ground, the ones he had given a head shot. They were Malviero's men and he recognised Mitch as his underboss.
