Once she was outside, Eva let out a breath. She moved to the side and leaned against the wall, her teeth grinding against each other. One hand went to her hip, giving it a gentle but much needed massage.
"how hard did I hit the ground that it'll hurt this badly," she mumbled.
"Need help?" a familiar voice asked, startling her.
She jumped, her head whipping in its direction. The action caused her to trip, but his hand caught her before she could reach the ground and helped stabilize her
"Can you stand?"
"Rom…? Ah…Yes," she stuttered. "Thanks," she said while holding on to him for support. "But you startled me."
Smith said nothing. He just looked at her, his gaze deep and unreadable. When she met his gaze, her heart skipped a beat.
"I didn't think I would see you so soon," she said, trying to start a conversation.
"Were you looking for me?" He asked.
Eva felt the place on her back where he still touched become hot. Why is that? She asked herself.
