"Ravenna," I called out as I approached her.
She raised her gaze to meet mine.
Hm, outwardly at least, she did not seem that perturbed. Her face remained as calm as ever, save for the reddeness blooming across her pale cheek.
"I had been looking for you in the throne room," I said, stopping a small distance away. "As I rendered judgment against Vincent, I fully expected you to be seated in the very front row to watch it unfold, considering how much you loathe your brother."
"I listened," she replied.
I raised a brow. So, she had been waiting just outside the double doors, straining her ears to catch every word?
"And what did you think of my punishment, then?" I asked, smiling.
"Why did you not condemn him to death?" Ravenna asked instead.
I paused slightly, staring at her guarded posture.
"Would you have wished for me to send your brother to the executioner?" I asked.
