Chapter 34 - The death warrant

Jay's POV

The doors of the school swung open, and the atmosphere in the hallway shifted instantly. We weren't just students returning; we were a storm. But as Keifer and the boys headed toward the section ,I detoured toward the library to drop off a few archival files.

I was halfway through a deserted corridor when a shadow blocked my path.

Kiko.

He leaned against the lockers, a greasy smirk on his face. "Well, isn't this Watson little fiance. Miss me?"

"Move, Kiko," I said, my voice flat. "I don't have the patience for bottom-feeders today."

He chuckled, stepping closer until he was in my personal space, his hand slamming against the wall beside my head. "Come on, Jay. All that beauty and no one to preserve it ? Why settle with someone like Keifer , ice king when you could have someone who truly wants to preserve your beauty?"

"Kiko, you know I don't need Stray dogs to preserve my beauty. And Keifer he's not a ice king, he just avoid stray trash", I shot back.

You think you're untouchable because of them?" he hissed, blocking my path. He looked frantic, his eyes darting around. Clearly he felt insulted by what I say "I could have made you happy, Jay. But you chose to be a dog on a leash for that thug Keifer."

"Move, Kiko," I said, my voice like dry ice. "You're embarrassing yourself."

He reached out, grabbing my shoulder roughly, his face contorting. "I'm not done with you! Let me show you want happens when you disobey" and tried to kiss me and holding my waist

That was his final mistake. I didn't wait for him to finish his tantrum. I stepped into his guard, my body moving with the muscle memory of a thousand sparring sessions. I drove a shattering punch directly into the center of his face. The sound of his nose breaking was a crisp crack that echoed through the hall.

Kiko hit the floor, clutching his face, blood seeping through his fingers. He let out a strangled roar of pain and scrambled to his feet, lunging at me with a blind, desperate rage.

He didn't make it two steps.

"GET BACK!" Aries' voice thundered through the corridor.

Keifer, Aries, girls and the rest of Section E rounded the corner like a pack of wolves. Girls came to my side checking for any injury.

Keifer didn't hesitate. He grabbed Kiko by the back of his neck and slammed him into the wall, the hard surface denting under the force.

Aries followed up with a brutal kick to the ribs that sent Kiko spiraling back to the floor.

Section e joined in too blocking Kiko's friend. It wasn't a fight—it was an execution. They moved with a synchronized brutality that left Kiko a crumpled, sobbing mess on the linoleum.

The Principal's Office

Ten minutes later, Me and Keifer were standing in the Principal's office. Section e and Aries were outside.Kiko was in the corner, his face a swollen, unrecognizable map of purple and red. His father, a local business man with more ego than sense, was already there, pacing and screaming.

"I will see you all in prison! My son is a victim! And this girl—" he pointed a trembling finger at me, "she's a violent delinquent! I don't care who your parents are, you're nothing but trash! You are a -"

The heavy mahogany doors of the office didn't just open; they were annihilated against the walls.

The room went dead silent as Pa Jashfer and Pa Keizer walked in. They didn't come in with lawyers or excuses; they came in with a deadly aura that made the oxygen leave the room.

Pa Jashfer stepped forward, his eyes locking onto Kiko's father with a terrifying, predatory calm. " Finish that sentence. You were saying something about my daughter?"

The Senator stammered, his bravado evaporating. "Mr. Mariano.. I... your daughter attacked my son!"

Pa Keizer stepped up next to him, towering over the desk. He didn't even look at the Principal. He looked at the Senator as if he were an insect. "Your son put his hands on my daughter's waist without consent. He cornered her. In my world, Senator, that isn't a school disciplinary issue. That's a death warrant."

"Now, wait a minute—" the Senator started.

"No," Pa Jashfer cut him off, his voice a low, lethal silk. "You have exactly one hour to resign from your position and leave this city. If I see your son's name on a school roster or your name on a ballot tomorrow, I won't be sending a letter. I'll be sending a clean-up crew."

He turned to me, his expression softening just enough to show he was proud, before his eyes went cold again. He looked at the shivering, broken Kiko on the floor.

"Princess" Pa Jashfer said, his voice echoing in the terrified silence of the office. "Next time, make sure you don't leave them breathing. We'll handle the rest."

"You did great job , son," Pa Keizer said to Keifer.

We walked out of that office in a single, formidable line— Pa Jashfer, Pa Keizer, Keifer, and me. We left the Principal trembling behind his desk and the Senator collapsed in a chair, his life's work dismantled in sixty seconds.

As we walked through the halls, the students parted like the Red Sea, eyes wide with the realization that the hierarchy of the school had just been permanently rewritten.

That night, the adrenaline finally faded. Ma's checking all of us for injury. Jane and Kuya Kyle training me tricks to avoid principal office in future.Dinner was a loud, defiant celebration, but as the house grew quiet, I found myself out on the balcony, staring at the stars.

A familiar warmth settled behind me. Keifer. He didn't say anything at first; he just wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder.

"You handled yourself well today," he whispered.

"I broke his nose," I reminded him with a small smirk.

"You should have broken his neck," Keifer grumbled, but he kissed the side of my head. "But don't worry. He won't be back. No one will ever touch what's mine again."

I turned in his arms, the "Queen" finally resting for the night. I leaned up and kissed him—a lingering, soft promise in the moonlight. We stayed like that for a long time, held together by the quiet strength of our bond, before retreating inside.

He didn't go to his room. He stayed in mine, his hand never leaving my waist as we fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, wrapped in the safety of the only person who truly understood the weight of the crown.
