Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

A little over a month had now passed since our protagonist arrived on Earth, in Universe 7.

Lately, one could say he had been enjoying some of what life had to offer, everything he had been deprived of for a very long time. Even so, training remained his top priority, something he did regularly.

The neighborhood where Kaido lived had begun to change as well. Since his arrival, a large number of Beastmen had started settling in the area.

At the moment, he was continuing his training alone.

The technique he had been trying to recreate a month earlier was now completely mastered. During his training to learn it, the understanding had come surprisingly quickly, once he grasped even a fragment of the concept, the rest followed naturally.

It was similar to when he had understood the concept behind teleportation during his fight with Cell. The realization had come instinctively.

He eventually concluded that this was one of the advantages of his race. Before becoming a being of flesh as he was now, he had first existed as a being of magic and ki, an Eternal Dragon of the Dragon Balls.

"Lord Kaido, forgive me for disturbing your training, but the cooks have finished preparing your meal. It is ready to be served." said a fox Beastman, kneeling on one knee as a sign of respect.

"I see. I was finished anyway." Kaido replied, dispelling the aura surrounding him. "Let's go."

He went to the table where the dishes awaited him and began eating before speaking again.

"I will be leaving Earth for a while." Kaido said to the people around him.

"Of course. We will maintain everything here during your absence." his men replied.

"Good. And the families, have they settled in properly?" he asked.

"Yes. The relocations went smoothly." they confirmed.

Kaido simply continued eating.

-----------

The next day, Kaido took his dragon form and set out toward his first destination, the closest place to Earth where he knew Dragon Balls existed, the Demon Realm.

To get there, he began searching for a Warp Master, a giant fish that connected the outer realm to the Demon Realm. It was located near Planet Batapi, a brown-orange world without life, surrounded by a ring.

He circled the planet until he finally met the fish's gaze.

"Eh?!"

'What in the world is that?!' the Warp Master exclaimed internally when his eyes met the dragon's, feeling like a zebra cornered by a lioness.

"Don't move, fish." Kaido said before the creature got the wrong idea.

"I'm not moving, I'm not moving." it replied in a deep but slightly trembling voice.

Kaido approached him and then shifted back into his humanoid form.

"Transport me to the Demon Realm."

"I've never seen you before… are you a demon?" the fish asked.

Kaido simply moved aside the hair near his ears, revealing pointed ears.

'Hm… normally I'd ask for the code too, but…' the Warp Master thought.

"You may pass." he finally said, opening his mouth wide.

Kaido stepped inside and was carried by a vortex within, followed by something resembling a black hole. This brought him to a corridor with three doors leading to the Demon Realm, surrounded by countless other doors, each leading to different destinations.

A miniature hologram of the giant fish appeared in front of him.

"You're heading to the Demon Realm. Follow me."

The fish opened a yellow door.

"Go ahead."

Kaido stepped through it. Once again, a vortex followed by a black hole transported him onward.

"Here I am." Kaido muttered after arriving, observing his surroundings.

Before him stretched sandy lands and floating islands, some volcanic, beneath a pink sky.

"Hm… not bad."

He began flying through this new world when he sensed several individuals following him.

"Come out of hiding." he challenged them landing.

"So you noticed us. Good." said one of the five demons, stepping out from behind the rocks.

He then ordered the other four to charge Kaido in formation, as if they were hunting prey.

They thrust their spears toward him.

Kaido didn't move.

The spears shattered the moment they struck his scales.

"Chief!?" they cried, turning toward their leader in the distance, who had no idea how to respond.

"Orororororo! My turn?" Kaido laughed.

He stomped on the nearest demon. The creature screamed in agony before dying under his foot, while his companions watched in horror.

Then laser beams of ki shot from Kaido's finger, piercing the hearts of the remaining demons.

Only their leader remained alive.

"Nooooo, guyyyyys!" he screamed when he saw his allies dead, only to receive a laser through his own chest moments later.

"It seems there's life over there." Kaido said as if nothing had happened, flying toward the direction where he sensed other presences.

When he arrived, he recognized the place, it was the Mercenary Village.

He noticed that in the Demon Realm, people weren't as frightened by him as those on Earth. They reacted mostly to his appearance, but not with the same fear. It was a slightly refreshing experience, though honestly it never really bothered him either way.

"Have you seen the quintuplets? I've got a mission for them." a passerby asked another demon.

"No. They left this morning and haven't been seen since." the other replied just as Kaido passed by.

He continued walking until a woman called out to him.

"Hey you, big guy. Feeling hungry?" a demon woman asked.

"Why not." he replied, sitting outside the restaurant since the interior was too small to accommodate him.

She brought him food from the local cuisine. It didn't look bad, actually, it looked quite appetizing.

He started eating.

It was indeed good.

"So? What do you think?" she asked.

"It's good." he replied before asking another question.

"By the way, do you know where the Tamagami around here is?"

"Hm… the Tamagami of the Third World… I think it's beyond the Sea of Darkness. There'll be a tower on the other side, it's almost a straight path from there. They say he's inside some ruins." she explained, pointing the direction. "You're trying to get the Dragon Balls, right? I don't think anyone has ever succeeded. Not even King Dabura." she added curiously.

"We'll see." Kaido replied as he stood up.

"It's on the house. Good luck." she said.

He nodded in thanks.

After that short break, he headed toward the Sea of Darkness she had mentioned. A dark ocean said to instantly kill anyone who falls into it, ferocious beasts prowl within it and will try to devour anyone who gets too close.

He flew over it, when suddenly a swarm of demonic cyclops monsters emerged from the sea to attack him.

"Swallow this."

He grabbed their heads, smashing them against each other and forcing them to bite and devour one another.

Then he transformed into his dragon form and began slaughtering them himself, leaving none alive.

Another type of monster tried to attack him.

They ended the same way, burned alive by his fiery breath.

This happened several times before he finally reached the other side.

Night was beginning to fall.

Kaido kept moving, flying over cities along the way without stopping.

-----------

"Did you see that? It's gigantic!" a villager shouted, pointing upward.

"It looks like it came from the direction of the Sea of Darkness." another commented.

"We really have no idea what that sea is hiding if something like that can come out of it."

'Hm… where is that thing going?' one person in the village square wondered. 'What if I followed that creature?'

The person headed toward the largest structure in the village.

"Princess Panzy." the guards greeted as she arrived.

"Hey." she said while rushing past them and heading into a garage where she started up a spaceship.

"Let's go!" she shouted as the craft lifted off, chasing the flying serpent.

-----------

'So these are the ruins.' Kaido thought as he landed.

Far away in a spaceship, someone was celebrating. "Finally! That monster stopped!"

After a few minutes, Panzy landed her ship, got out, and cautiously approached where the dragon was.

"He's huge…" she whispered.

The dragon had his eyes fixed on something ahead.

In truth, Kaido already knew someone was behind him, but there was absolutely no danger.

'What is he looking at?' she wondered and followed his gaze.

A Tamagami stood there, then Kaido transformed into his humanoid form.

"Eeeeeh?!" Panzy gasped before quickly covering her mouth.

'It wasn't just a beast… he came to fight Tamagami Number Three… Everyone who tried before died.' she thought while peeking from her hiding spot.

"Oy." Kaido called out, walking toward the Tamagami holding a hammer.

"Whaaaaaaat?!" the Tamagami shouted, until now he had looked like nothing more than a statue.

'My ears!!!' Panzy thought, covering them.

"Stop shouting." Kaido replied calmly.

"I am Tamagami Number Three. Do you wish to obtain the Dragon Ball?" the Tamagami declared while spinning his hammer and striking a pose.

"That's right."

"Then you must fight me!" the Tamagami said, pointing his hammer at Kaido.

"Let's begin."

The two charged at each other at extreme speed.

For the first time since arriving here, Kaido faced an opponent close to his own level.

Every blow they exchanged sent shockwaves rippling through the ruins.

They were pushed backward before charging again. It had become a duel of pure brute strength.

Kaido grabbed the head of his opponent's hammer and breathed fire at close range.

The Tamagami teleported behind Kaido before the flames could reach him and tried to land a kick, but Kaido's tail wrapped around his leg and hurled him aside.

Kaido followed his opponent's body by teleporting into the path where he had thrown him, throwing a punch.

But the Tamagami used the speed he had gained from the throw to clash his fist against Kaido's with even greater force, forcing Kaido back.

"Kh-hmm." Kaido charged again, and so did the Tamagami. They resumed exchanging blows and teleporting left and right, destroying everything around them.

'What possessed me to come here?!' Panzy thought, catching only brief glimpses of the two fighters as they moved faster than she could follow.

"Eat this."

Kaido grabbed the Tamagami's head and smashed it into a hill, dragging it across the rocks at full speed.

"Gaaah!"

The Tamagami summoned his hammer back from the ground far away. It rocketed into Kaido's back, launching him forward and freeing him from Kaido's grip.

The Tamagami caught the hammer again and struck a pose.

In response, Kaido formed blades of ki extending from each of his fingers like claws.

The two opponents rushed at each other again, the Tamagami's hammer colliding with Kaido's claws.

The hammer shattered on impact.

The Tamagami quickly retreated and began launching fireballs, which Kaido ignored entirely, charging straight through them since they had no effect on him.

Seeing this, the Tamagami formed red energy barriers around his fists, pressing them together to form something like a cannon.

He fired a powerful blast of energy directly at Kaido.

Having anticipated it, Kaido teleported behind him and drove his hand through the Tamagami's body, grabbing the Dragon Ball embedded in his chest while the attack continued firing into the distance, exploding a floating island.

"You have won…" the magical construct said before shutting down completely.

"Good fight." Kaido replied, his arm still piercing through the Tamagami's body as it began to crack and crumble.

'He won! That's insane… I can't believe what I just saw. I almost feel like throwing up, watching that made my head spin.' Panzy thought after witnessing the entire battle.

Once the commotion settled, villagers living near the ruins came to investigate.

To their surprise, they discovered that someone had defeated the Tamagami.

-----------

"Lord Dabura! Lord Dabura! Lord Dabura!" a small demon shouted while running through the corridors of a castle before bursting through a large door.

"Gomah, what is it? It had better be important if you're calling me like that." Dabura replied from his throne, two demonesses at his side, feeding him.

"Y-yes… sorry... it's… important." Gomah said while catching his breath. "Someone... has defeated a Tamagami."

"What?!" Dabura got up, he couldn't help but react like that to the news.

"Guards... in the third world notified us."
