"Looks like the prophecy was right!"
Boros stood up and rolled his shoulders.
"Twenty years! I waited twenty damn years for this fight. Do you know how I lived through those twenty years? Do you know how bored I was? I crossed half the known universe just to meet you…"
As he spoke, Boros became a blur and flashed in front of Jovian. He lifted his right leg high, turning it into a razor-sharp whip kick that crashed down from above.
"Hm?"
Jovian raised both arms in front of him.
BOOM!
The instant Boros's leg collided with Jovian's forearms, the energy erupting from the impact incinerated everything around them. The alloy floor beneath their feet—metal built to withstand deep-space travel—melted on the spot. Violent power poured out between them, and in the surrounding rooms, aliens hiding from the disaster were instantly vaporized the moment that energy reached them…
"Hahahahaha…!"
Boros threw his head back and laughed at the sight of Jovian blocking him.
"Those fodder can't even get close to us—one second near us and they die!"
"Say… you've been looking forward to today too, haven't you?"
Boros bent down, shoved his face close to Jovian's, and asked with a feral grin.
"Of course. I can't wait to gouge your eye out."
Jovian's eyes flared crimson.
"Hm?"
Boros stared at those glowing eyes, and a bad feeling crawled up his spine.
"Bzzzt…"
Before he could think further, Jovian grabbed Boros by the head, lined his own eyes up with Boros's single eye, and started firing wildly.
"Ah—my eye!"
Blasted by that scorching light, Boros reflexively squeezed his eyes shut. And the instant he did, Jovian seized the opening and began hammering Boros's head without mercy.
Now that Jovian had confirmed Boros was far stronger than he remembered, he wasn't going to give him any chance to remove that restraining armor.
He was going to kill Boros while Boros's power was still being suppressed.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Jovian locked one hand around Boros's throat, drove his knee into the eye on Boros's chest, and used his other hand to pound Boros's head again and again—his heat vision flashing intermittently, never letting Boros open his eyes. Blind, Boros could only swing his arms around uselessly, unable to land a clean hit.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Under Jovian's relentless barrage, ketchup-red gore sprayed from Boros's head.
"Enough!"
After five full minutes of that smooth, brutal combo, Boros finally exploded.
BOOM!
A terrifying surge of energy burst from Boros's body. Jovian slipped for a moment and got shoved back by the blast.
"I'm getting serious!"
In the few seconds Jovian was pushed away, Boros tore the armor off his body in an instant. Massive power flooded out of him.
BOOM!
The entire alien battleship trembled as the emperor awakened.
"That armor was made by me—specifically to suppress the energy inside my body. This is my complete form!"
"The moment I take it off… that means the fight is about to end."
Boros revealed his deep blue skin. His eyes—reddened from Jovian's heat vision—locked onto Jovian with icy focus.
"…"
Jovian hovered in midair, staring back. In this fully released state, Boros's power level had reached true stellar-class. It looked close to sub-stellar-class—just one word different—but the gap in total scale was worlds apart…
But—
"Asura Mode!"
In an instant, Jovian entered Asura Mode, using Carnage Kabuto's cell-energy release method. His own power level surged, climbing endlessly toward true stellar-class.
"Ha… hahaha! Good! Good! That's it…"
Boros stared at Jovian's unleashed energy and grew visibly excited, his heart roaring in his chest. The last time he'd felt this way… was twenty years ago.
BOOM!
Jovian flashed in front of Boros and drove his right fist into Boros's cheek.
"Pfft…"
Boros didn't move his body. His neck bent slightly—and ketchup-red blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
"Ha… ha…"
"That's it!!"
Jovian's punches lit Boros's nerves on fire. For the first time in twenty years, Boros was bleeding—and that old feeling came roaring back.
"You talk too much."
Jovian said coldly, staring at Boros's grin.
THUD!
The next second, before Boros's head had even fully turned back into place, Boros's fist was already in Jovian's face.
"Pfft…"
A hot, stinging pain spread across Jovian's cheek. He suddenly remembered—one year ago, before he'd awakened any powers, when he was still doing club tryouts, dropping opponents one by one with his own fists. Back then he had no abilities, just raw fire in his blood. He loved the thrill of knocking an enemy down in a real fight.
After he awakened his Viltrumite power, that feeling faded.
But right now—facing Boros—
It came back.
"You getting excited too?"
Boros laughed at Jovian's surprised look.
"You talk too much."
Jovian's mouth curled upward despite himself. His fists became a storm of afterimages, blasting toward Boros.
"Hahahaha…!"
"You really did get excited!"
Boros roared with laughter and struck back just as fiercely.
BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM—!
The instant afterimages collided with afterimages, the shockwaves—wind pressure and energy fused together—blanketed the entire ship. A battleship the size of A-City was actually starting to buckle under the fight between two tiny figures!
A ship that wouldn't break even while flying at near-light speed through space was now glowing red-hot, as if it were burning from the inside out.
Above A-City, it thundered again and again.
With temperatures inside the ship climbing into the hundreds—if not thousands—there were no survivors left aboard.
Only Jovian and Boros.
"That ship's going to break apart!"
"If it falls like that… A-City's going to be wiped out!"
Bang stood with his hands behind his back, staring up at the blazing ship, helpless. His anti-human ultimate technique—Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist—couldn't do anything to something that massive. If the ship really came down, there was nothing he could do.
The other S-Class heroes beneath the ship watched the burning, fireball-like hulk overhead, sweat beading across their foreheads.
