(Sapphire's POV)
She saw me first and grin broadly. More like a viper showing her fangs.
"Sapphire Montgomery, you're back." She said. "Why?"
Sapphire Montgomery?
Why?
"It's Sapphire Blackwood, Mira. Never forget that." I replied calmly. If her intentions were to see me crack, she was about to be sorely disappointed. "And this is my house."
"Well, not for long." She said in a singsong voice, then turned to my suddenly very quiet husband. "Right, Dammyboo?"
He grunted and shifted uncomfortably, but I waited for his reply like a lifeline.
"Yes, Mira."
Okay, then.
"The divorce papers, please." I said as if he had not spoken anything.
He gave me a startled look, then quickly look away. "They're in my office, hold on a little." He said trying to stand up.
"Oh, no! Don't bother, if you move so suddenly when her legs are on your thighs, they might become more fractured. So I'll go get the papers from your office myself. Thank you." I said with a small smile.
