My hands pushed the door open and I walked in as the soft chime above the door rang.
The café owner looked up from behind the counter and his face immediately turned sad when he saw me.
I turned away from the pity in his eyes. It was too much.
"Miss Sapphire…" his voice was full of sympathy.
Ughh
"Good morning, Mr Thamos." I sent him a small smile.
"Good morning, Miss. I heard about your friend, and I am very sorry for your loss." He sighed sadly.
My throat tightened.
"Thank you." I croaked.
"He was a good boy, always making everyone around here laugh." Thamos continued like he was reminiscing.
I didn't know what to say so I just smiled weakly.
"He will be missed." He added.
Tell me about it.
"Yes." I whispered, then turned to walk to our favorite table by the window.
Luke liked sitting by the window so he could judge people's outfits as they passed.
I let out a laugh as I remembered his face when someone dressed poorly.
