Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: A Passing Millionaire Socialite

"With the dawn of this new era, we humans have once again transcended our own limits, bringing a ray of hope to our compatriots who suffer from physical disabilities."

"Now, let us..."

"She's so beautiful, like a fairy fallen to the mortal realm."

The Little Spider, who had just entered puberty, sat on the roof of a skyscraper in his red and blue spandex. He watched the big screen across the street, which showed Artoria promoting and explaining the 'Regeneration One'. Her elegant and noble temperament made many young men dream of her at night, and the Little Spider was one of them. Munching on a sandwich he bought to satisfy his hunger, he had grown to absolutely love the view of the city from this rooftop.

But lately, he felt like he didn't have enough energy. It was good enough if he could come out and help for the first half of the night. After all, he was human and needed sleep and a life. He was so busy he could hardly handle it, especially with the situation at home recently, which frustrated him. He didn't know what had gotten into him, but he had snapped at Uncle Ben, who had raised him. Now he regretted it, but his stubborn inner self still didn't want to apologize.

Glancing at the setting Sun, Peter sighed, found a hidden spot to take off his suit, changed back into his daily clothes, and began to wander aimlessly down the street. But what happened next would make him regret it for the rest of his life.

"NO!!! Uncle Ben!!"

Despite having extraordinary power, he could not change the fact that his closest relative had been shot through by a thug's bullet. Exhausted and crying, he rushed over to cover Uncle Ben's wound, but the blood continued to pour out.

"Peter, you must remember (With great power comes great responsibility!) With great power comes great responsibility."

Even in this state, Uncle Ben did not say a word of blame to Peter. Things are unpredictable; he had always regretted not paying more attention to the feelings of this poor child. It wasn't too late to say those words now. After telling Peter what was in his heart, his consciousness went dark.

"Little guy, move aside, he can still be saved!"

A passing millionaire socialite slowly walked over from the side. She had been planning to go home when she heard a gunshot while passing this street. With a bit of a curiosity-driven mood, she came over, only to find that something had indeed happened, and it was that most familiar scene. Hearing that familiar 'With great power comes great responsibility!', Artoria knew she had to get involved. She had her assistant take out a 'Potion'. Using it for a mere gunshot wound was a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but Artoria felt it was worth it to save this old man. She hadn't drawn 'Medical Ninjutsu' or anything yet! Even if she had, it wouldn't be good to expose it with so many people around.

Taking the Potion from her assistant, Artoria walked to Uncle Ben's side. She glanced at the old man who had influenced Spider-Man's life, her heart filled with immense respect. She injected the Potion into the old man's vein. Soon, the Potion took effect, plugging the bleeding gunshot wound. Under Artoria's perception, Uncle Ben's weak life force slowly grew stronger. Artoria breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the laws of the Universe hadn't dictated that certain people couldn't be saved. This was good.

"You are... Miss Artoria Stark!!"

"Take good care of your uncle. That's all!"

After confirming there was nothing else to do, Artoria said that one sentence to the Little Spider and left.

"His life seems to have nothing to do with you, so why were you willing to save him?"

Escorted by bodyguards and a driver, Artoria began to leave the crowd. After all, she was a public figure now, especially with an older brother who was constantly in the headlines; it was hard for Artoria not to be famous. Leaving early was the best policy. As she was leaving, a very conspicuous old man in the crowd asked Artoria a question with a smile. Although there were many people around, Artoria could clearly hear the Old gentleman's words.

"It's nothing, I just felt like saving him! There are so many unfair things in the world. I'm not a god, and even a god wouldn't care about those things. But when something happens right in front of me and I have the power to save someone, if I don't act, I'll feel uneasy for the rest of my life."

For some reason, Artoria spoke her mind completely, and more frighteningly, she didn't even realize it as she continued walking. The old man watched the direction Artoria went and gave a kind smile.

"Keep it up! This heart is enough. Artoria, you're a good child, you're just still a bit dishonest with yourself, just like before."

The people around seemed completely unable to sense the Old gentleman's presence. The Old gentleman had a cute little orange cat standing on his shoulder, a guitar on his back, and a DJ turntable at his waist. It looked like he was going to have some fun at a nightclub again. His life was simply too carefree.
