Chapter 11 - Chapter 3:The Night That Changed Everything

Greatest of All Time – Season 2Chapter 3: The Night That Changed Everything

The moon hung high above Moonfall Forest, bathing the trees in silver light.

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves as Arashio, James, Siya, and Saku sat around a campfire.

The strange blue and crimson lights they had seen earlier were gone.

But the uneasy feeling remained.

James tossed another piece of wood into the fire.

"...Something doesn't feel right."

Saku crossed his arms.

"You're actually scared?"

James smirked.

"I never said that."

Siya looked toward the dark forest.

"I hope whatever we saw... never comes back."

Arashio stayed silent.

For some reason...

His heart was beating faster than usual.

A Challenge Between Brothers

Suddenly, Saku stood up.

"James."

James looked at him.

"What?"

Saku smiled confidently.

"Let's settle it tonight."

James laughed.

"You still think you can beat me?"

Saku pointed toward the open field.

"Stop talking."

"Fight me."

James slowly stood.

His eyes sparkled with excitement.

"I've been waiting for you to say that."

Siya sighed.

"Again?"

Arashio smiled.

"They're impossible."

Moonfall Arena

A wide grassland stretched beneath the night sky.

The moonlight illuminated the battlefield.

James and Saku walked to opposite sides.

The wind suddenly became silent.

James cracked his neck.

"No holding back?"

Saku smiled.

"No holding back."

"...Three..."

"...Two..."

"...One..."

BOOOOOOM!!

The ground exploded.

Both disappeared.

BAM!

Their fists collided in midair.

A violent shockwave blasted across the field.

Trees bent from the pressure.

Birds flew into the night sky.

Arashio's eyes widened.

"They're... so fast."

James spun through the air.

"Blue Flash Kick!"

A glowing kick sliced through the wind.

Saku blocked it with one arm.

BOOM!!

He slid backward several meters before smiling.

"My turn."

Crimson energy gathered around his fist.

"Crimson Fang!"

He punched forward.

A massive red shockwave rushed toward James.

James leaped over it.

The attack split the ground behind him.

CRAAAAACK!!

The earth shook.

The battle became even faster.

Punch after punch.

Kick after kick.

Neither side stepped back.

James landed a heavy punch on Saku's stomach.

BAM!

Saku coughed but answered with a spinning kick.

James blocked.

Both smiled.

"You're stronger."

"So are you."

Blue lightning surrounded James.

Crimson flames surrounded Saku.

The night sky trembled.

Even the clouds moved away.

Arashio felt goosebumps cover his body.

"...This..."

"...This isn't a normal fight."

Siya nodded silently.

She had never seen such overwhelming power.

James raised his hand.

Blue lightning gathered into a sphere.

"Blue Impact!"

Saku roared.

Crimson flames exploded around him.

"Crimson Breaker!"

Both attacks collided.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

A gigantic pillar of blue and crimson light pierced the heavens.

The explosion illuminated the entire forest.

Animals fled in terror.

When the smoke cleared...

James and Saku stood only a few steps apart.

Their uniforms were torn.

Blood trickled from small cuts on their faces.

Both were breathing heavily.

Then...

James laughed.

"Hahaha..."

"I still can't beat you."

Saku smiled.

"And I can't beat you either."

The two walked toward each other.

Instead of throwing another punch...

They bumped their fists together.

"Next time."

"Next time."

Arashio smiled.

"They're more like brothers than rivals."

The Road Home

The four friends walked back toward the city beneath the quiet night sky.

James stretched.

"I'm starving."

Saku laughed.

"That's all you ever think about."

Siya smiled softly.

"I'll cook something tomorrow."

James raised both hands.

"You're the best, Siya!"

Arashio looked at his three friends.

For the first time since losing his parents...

He truly felt happy.

He wished...

This moment would last forever.

Fate Never Waits

As they reached a lonely road...

A loud engine echoed through the night.

VRROOOOOOM!!

A speeding truck rushed toward the intersection.

The driver slammed the brakes.

They didn't work.

"Oh no!"

"The brakes failed!!"

The truck spun out of control.

Its headlights locked onto Arashio.

Everything slowed down.

Siya screamed.

"ARASHIO!!"

James' eyes widened.

"Move!!"

Saku dashed forward without hesitation.

Both boys pushed Arashio away with all their strength.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The deafening crash shook the entire street.

Glass shattered.

Metal twisted.

Smoke filled the air.

Arashio was thrown several meters away.

His head struck the pavement.

Blood slowly flowed across the road.

His vision blurred.

"...James..."

"...Saku..."

His voice grew weaker.

The last thing he saw...

Was the silhouettes of his two best friends disappearing into the smoke.

Darkness swallowed his vision.

Three Months Later...

Beep... Beep... Beep...

The sound of a heart monitor echoed through a quiet hospital room.

Doctors stood beside a bed.

"He's still unconscious."

"Three months..."

"He's been in a coma for three months."

Outside the hospital...

Rain poured endlessly.

Far above the clouds...

Two mysterious lights—one blue and one crimson—rose into the heavens.

An ancient voice echoed through the darkness.

"The Blue Soul..."

"The Crimson Soul..."

"Your sacrifice has finally awakened destiny."

The stars trembled.

The gears of fate had begun to turn.
