Inside the Student Council room, Mayumi and Mari fixed their gazes intently on Tatsuya.
Mayumi's expression was uncharacteristically stern, while Mari stood beside her, arms crossed tightly beneath her chest.
"You're telling me an attack is coming tomorrow, yet you want the school gates left wide open? Tatsuya-kun, have you completely lost your mind?"
For the first time, Mayumi had lost the playful composure she usually maintained.
Mari nodded in firm agreement.
"Mayumi is right. Letting terrorists waltz onto school grounds is far too risky."
"...Do either of you have a better plan?"
Tatsuya's expression remained unshakable, his tone flat and chillingly detached.
Mayumi fell silent.
Mari opened her mouth as if to protest, but the words died in her throat, and she quickly shut it again.
"You don't, do you? Then we follow my plan. The Student Council will focus on calming the panicked students, while the Public Morals Committee and the Club Management Group handle the terrorists. With proper preparation, there will be zero casualties on our side. We can also save the students who have been brainwashed by Blanche."
Mayumi was left speechless.
Mari's jaw tightened in frustration, but she remained silent.
Just then, the door swung open, and Katsuto Juumonji stepped into the room.
"Saegusa, Watanabe—we're going with Tatsuya's plan."
"Juumonji-kun..."
Mayumi and Mari both turned their attention to the imposing figure of the Juumonji head.
"Tatsuya, are you certain there will be no casualties on our side?"
Tatsuya offered a confident, subtle smile.
"I am 100% certain. Even in the event of a fatal injury, I can restore them as if nothing ever happened."
Katsuto went silent for a moment before letting out a dry, amused smirk.
"If I recall, you possess a specialized magic that defies all common sense. I've heard the rumors often enough, though I've yet to see it with my own eyes."
"Would you like a demonstration, Juumonji-senpai? I'd be happy to oblige."
Tatsuya gave the Student Council desk a light, rhythmic tap.
Crack! Boom!
In the next heartbeat, the heavy desk split violently in two, the wood splintering into jagged, ugly shards as if struck by a massive blunt force.
"And what do you intend to do with that?"
Tatsuya met Juumonji's question with a mysterious smile.
"Just watch. I can do this."
Snap!
With a simple flick of his fingers, a wave of Psions enveloped the wreckage.
In an instant, the desk reformed, returning to its pristine state without a single scratch.
A flash of genuine surprise crossed Katsuto Juumonji's eyes.
"Does this effect work on living tissue?"
"Naturally. I can heal any wound with this magic."
"...Magic that exists outside the realm of human reason. Now I understand why your standing within the Yotsuba Family is so high."
"Are you satisfied now, Juumonji-senpai?"
"I trusted you from the start. I'll go head to the meeting with the Club Management Group. You two should get ready as well."
Katsuto's gaze shifted toward Mayumi and Mari.
Mayumi nodded softly, looking somewhat defeated, while Mari offered a bitter smile as she turned to head back to the Public Morals Committee office.
Once Juumonji and Mari had departed, only two remained in the room: Tatsuya and Mayumi.
Mayumi moved to the President's chair, quietly observing Tatsuya from her seat.
"Mayumi, how about we go out together once this business is settled?"
"Eh? You mean... a date?"
"You could call it that. It's up to you whether we go with the others or if it's just the two of us."
Whatever joy Mayumi felt vanished the moment she heard the second half of his sentence.
A dark, frigid aura began to emanate from her petite frame.
"Tatsuya-kun... exactly what is that supposed to mean?"
Mayumi's voice was low, intentionally suppressed to add a terrifying edge to her words.
"Ahem."
Even Tatsuya felt a bead of sweat at the back of his neck under that crushing pressure.
"You see, I already promised Sayaka first, so..."
"Enough. Stop right there."
"Mayumi?"
"We will discuss this after the problem is solved, okay?"
Mayumi's tone was one of weary resignation.
Tatsuya could only nod in agreement and drop the subject.
A short while later, Miyuki returned, accompanied by Suzune and Azusa.
Noticing the heavy atmosphere lingering in the room, Miyuki immediately sought an explanation from her brother.
Tatsuya managed to soothe Miyuki's anxieties, skillfully diverting her attention before she could dig any deeper.
True to his reputation as a "playboy," his handling of the situation was flawless, leaving no openings for suspicion.
The sharp-eyed Suzune clearly sensed something was off, while the innocent Azusa merely blushed, misinterpreting the closeness between Tatsuya and Miyuki.
'Everything is set. We just have to wait for their move tomorrow. I hope there are no significant deviations from the previous timeline.'
Tatsuya was offering a silent prayer when a notification from his chat group flashed a new mission before his eyes.
[Mission: Destroy Blanche, rescue the involved students, and subjugate the Black Mist.]
'Tsk. Here we go again.'
