Tatsuya arrived at the gala accompanied by Miyuki.
As the Prince of the Yotsuba Family and a renowned genius in the field of magical engineering, Tatsuya instantly became the focal point for the young elites of the Ten Master Clans and the Eighteen Assistant Houses.
The moment he stepped into the room, a hush fell over the crowd. Every eye was fixed on the pair. If Tatsuya commanded attention because of his sheer power and his official standing within the Yotsuba, then Miyuki drew gazes for a different reason: her beauty was simply too perfect. It was the kind of ethereal grace that felt as though it truly shouldn't exist in this world.
"Welcome, Tatsuya-kun."
The woman who greeted him was Mayumi. Tonight, she wore a brilliant crimson gown—elegant, yet undeniably provocative.
"Mayumi-san, as you can see, I am here as well."
Miyuki offered a smile, but her body radiated a bone-chilling, frigid aura.
"Ara~ forgive me. I didn't notice you because I was so focused on Tatsuya."
Not one to back down, Mayumi released her own magic to counter Miyuki's pressure.
Sword Princess: You just arrived and something is already happening?
Time Eater: Ara~ ara~ what a sin it is to have two women fighting over you.
White: This looks interesting, though your sister is overall superior to your "side-woman."
Makoto: Beautiful women truly are terrifying.
Tatsuya could only watch helplessly as his reputation among the chat group members plummeted. Even if he explained himself until his throat went dry, he doubted they would believe him.
Stepping forward, Tatsuya reached out and simply erased the magic flowing from both Miyuki and Mayumi.
"Onii-sama?!" Miyuki cried out in surprise.
Mayumi turned pale as she stared at him.
"You two, please refrain from fighting in the middle of a party," Tatsuya reminded them with a calm, casual smile.
Miyuki lowered her head, looking dejected and guilty. Mayumi, meanwhile, gave a wry, bitter smile. "My apologies. I went too far."
Tatsuya gave a soft nod and glanced around the room.
"Please, don't mind us. Enjoy the evening," Tatsuya announced. His words acted as a signal, successfully restoring the festive atmosphere of the party.
Tatsuya himself wasn't fond of socializing with strangers, mostly because he found the effort of getting close to new people tedious. Since he had encouraged Miyuki to enjoy the party, she was now occupied chatting with women from other families.
Among the crowd surrounding Miyuki, one woman stood out: a tall, slender figure with long blonde hair. If he recalled correctly, her name was Airi Isshiki from the Isshiki Family, a member of the Eighteen Assistant Houses.
"Eclair Airi… I'm looking forward to the Nine Schools Competition."
Sword Princess: A new target?
Tatsuya Yotsuba: Ahem, don't jump to conclusions.
Sword Princess: Then what was that comment supposed to mean?
Tatsuya took a moment to explain the Nine Schools Competition, the major event held every summer.
Makoto: Sounds amazing! I'd love to see it in person.
Tatsuya Yotsuba: I'll show it to you in the future. Just be patient.
Makoto: Thank you! I'm looking forward to it!
White: There are many terms I don't recognize, but I'm interested in seeing this.
Tatsuya Yotsuba: You can join the live streaming I'll provide later.
White: I shall look forward to it.
Time Eater: Ara~ ara~ I'll be sad if I'm left out.
Tatsuya Yotsuba: No one is leaving you behind. Besides, there's still one more person I need to greet.
Time Eater: Heehee, in that case, I'll wait expectantly.
Sword Princess: Me too.
Tatsuya smiled brightly, nodding with a relaxed expression.
"Hey, hey, hey! What do you think you're doing?!" an angry shout suddenly erupted.
Snapped back to reality, Tatsuya scanned the room. He spotted two men dressed like professional bodyguards marching straight ahead, completely ignoring the presence of the Ten Master Clans and the Eighteen Assistant Houses.
"Those two…"
Tatsuya narrowed his eyes, certain that something was deeply wrong with them.
[Ding! First Special Mission released for Tatsuya: Stop those two men before casualties occur!]
Time Eater: A first mission? What a shame only Tatsuya can do it.
White: And here I thought I could go there and look around. It seems it isn't that simple.
Sword Princess: …
Makoto: What a pity.
Tatsuya was too focused on the targets to read the group's messages. The two men were closing in on the direct descendants of the Assistant Houses. Just as they were about to strike, Tatsuya blurred, appearing instantly in front of them. With a swift display of martial arts, he neutralized them both.
The process was so fast it left the onlookers stunned and speechless.
"Tatsuya-kun?!" Mayumi called out in panic.
"It's fine," he replied calmly. "I've only incapacitated them."
