MIREYA POV
I picked up the spoon again, trying to focus on the food. Every bite felt like a battle between hunger and the way his eyes burned into me.
"Are you going to keep staring at me like that?" I asked, finally looking up, annoyed.
He leaned back slightly, arms crossed, a small, knowing smile on his lips. "Why does it bother you?" he asked, calm, teasing.
I huffed, cheeks warming. "It shouldn't, not that I care. but… it does."
His smile widened, almost smug. "Good. I like that it bothers you."
I rolled my eyes, trying to shove another bite in my mouth, but my hands were shaking slightly. He kept watching every move, like he could read everything I was thinking. The hair on my body stood just with his gaze."
"You know," I muttered around a mouthful, "you're really difficult to ignore."
He chuckled, low and amused. "I don't want to be ignored. I want you… paying attention. Every little thing."
