JAX POV
The morning air was sharp as I stood on the balcony overlooking Brasshall.
Crowds had gathered along the streets leading to the palace gates, with excitement buzzing like electricity. Today, the King of Eldoria was arriving… King Cedric himself, along with some of his dragon riders.
Three days of waiting, and now the city was alive with the spectacle. Vendors shouted over the clamor, children darted through the crowd, and guards lined every major street, alert to any sign of trouble.
I ran a hand through my hair, letting my eyes sweep the crowd. Nothing would happen on my watch. Not today. Not while Viren was still loose.
"Xavian," I said, voice low as he fell into step beside me, "keep an eye on the main gates. Note any unusual movements, anyone trying to get closer than they should."
"Understood, my lord," he replied, scanning the crowd with sharp precision.
