The silence of the park broke in an instant.
Yun Bom looked around. The shadow behind the tree… it was gone now.
"Maybe it was just my imagination…" she thought softly, but her heart was still racing.
She glanced at the boy. He looked calm as always, but his eyes had turned slightly serious—like he had noticed something too.
He quickly took out his notebook and wrote:
"Are you okay?"
Yun Bom nodded lightly, though her hands were still trembling a little.
"There… someone was there," she said quietly.
The boy looked at her for a few seconds, then scanned the surroundings, as if searching for someone.
Then he wrote:
"I won't leave you alone."
Her heart reacted strangely after reading that—there was fear… but also a sense of comfort.
They stood there in silence for a while. The soft wind moved through the trees, making the moment feel even deeper.
"Are you… always like this?" Yun Bom asked.
This time, the boy paused. He didn't answer immediately.
He opened his notebook… but stopped before writing anything.
As if memories were slowly returning to him.
Then he finally wrote:
"Every silence has a reason."
Yun Bom looked into his eyes. At that moment, she felt… he wasn't just quiet.
He was hiding something.
Something painful.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated.
Unknown number.
She hesitated for a moment before answering:
"Hello…?"
There was only the faint sound of breathing on the other side.
No one spoke.
Her heart started beating faster.
"Who is this?" she asked, slightly nervous.
The call ended.
Slowly, Yun Bom lowered her phone.
The boy looked at her again—this time, tension was clearly visible in his eyes for the first time.
He quickly wrote in his notebook:
"If there's any problem… tell me."
Yun Bom looked at him… and without thinking, she nodded.
She didn't know why… but now, nothing felt normal anymore.
And maybe… this boy knew more than he was showing.
